One last dumb question about the macros on this site

How come with all the research I've done along with speaking to professional trainers and what not they say you should be eating double protein to carbs and this site says the exact opposite?

    Macro intake is a personal preference, and most trainers aren't trained in nutrition

    Who told you to eat double protein to carbs? All the research? I've never heard of that metric.

    I've also never heard of someone telling someone here to eat double the carbs relative to their protein?

    Not when it comes to macros, no. Calories are what determines weight loss, macros determine satiety, and (to an extent) health and body composition.

    According to the metrics at the bottom of your daily diary. The intake of carbs everyday is double what it's telling me to do in protein.
    The explaination I got was with (Fat/Protein/Carbs) the carbs are burned off first then the fat, so if you're low on carbs then your body gets to burning the fat much quicker.

    If you're on a calorie deficit, getting 1g/lb of protein and 0.35g/lb of fat and then any remaining calories from anywhere. If you are very overweight, you should go based off your LBM rather than weight.

    Some people are more carb sensitive and some it has less of an effect. 40/40/20 p/c/f is also a common weight loss macro split that generally gets you pretty close to those amounts, sometimes a bit more in the protein and carbs and less in fat depending on your weight and calorie intake.

    That is correct. 50C 30F 20P is an approximate representation for most normal human diets. A normal diet is much easier to stick to than a weird diet. If you want to manage your weight, you have to have a diet you feel comfortable with. Most people have to have an extreme (fitness, athletic, ethical or medical) goal to be able to sustain a weird diet. Both unnecessary and unpleasant, is a recipe for disaster.

    It's true, but it has no practical implications for you. Your body burns energy 24/7. Your body stores energy after you eat. Energy gets stored as glycogen and fat. When your body burns energy, it takes what is most available at that time from glycogen and fat. When you over time take in less energy than you burn, your body uses more energy than it stores. This is what happens when you eat less/move more - you lose weight. When you gain weight, you're consistently taking in more energy than your body burns.
