Helloo~
I'm not new to MFP or loosing weight, I have been as heavy as 91kg/200lbs in the past and I've done a lot of yo-yo dieting and restriction/binging since I was 11yo. I have stopped with all of it for 3 years and I'm now 68kgs(150lbs).
I'm returning to MFP and trying out Intermittent Fasting because I've heard of its benefits on loosing fat % which is what I want the most.
I'm looking for motivated and friendly people to add as a friend and keep accountable to. If you are also doing Intermittent Fasting that'd be a plus!

Intermittent Fasting doesn't have any special benefits for fat loss over any other form of meal timing it's just a different method of managing your calorie intake so that you can remain in a calorie deficit. If you're looking to reduce your body fat but maintain your weight look into re-comping.

I'm trying out IF because it seems pretty simple to follow and it fits my lifestyle in a way that I feel like I will be able to stick to it for longer.0 -
You can do IF and recomping at the same time. IF is fitting your calories within a feeding window and recomping is eating at maintenance while lifting. Two separate things.
If IF fits your lifestyle and you are able to fit your calories, then it's has special benefits.1 -

@Ironandwine69 That's true, I just meant IF doesn't have any magical qualities for fat loss over other methods of meal frequency which seemed to be implied (OP having already lost 50lb without IF), if IF makes it easier for her to manage the deficit then fantastic, I'm all for it. I do 16:8 IF myself most weekends but there have been a number of posts lately referring to IF as some sort of fat burning miracle diet which is not the case so just wanted to clarify.

Hi! I, too, am not a stranger to MFP or weight loss, having used MFP the last 5 years on and off, to help me track my caloric intake and losing 35 lbs in the process. I've been researching intermittent fasting and I've been doing it for almost two weeks (it will be 2 weeks in two days) and so far, so good. It's really helping me to stay within my 1200 calorie range (trying to get rid of the 14 lbs hugging my body like a kindergartner on their first day of school lol) and I've honestly not been hungry during my fasting hours. This is phenomenal to me because I'm, in a sense, remembering how to eat out of hunger, not out of habit. For years, I've been doing to exact opposite. I do 16:8, usually stopping eating around 6pm, and I'm ready for my first meal around 10am the next day. Here's to reaching our goals!0
