"Australian" colours are green and gold. No idea why.... Maybe to differentiate us from the rest of the blue, white and red?
ETA - according to google, green and gold are the colours of our national floral emblem, the wattle.
This... Also I read somewhere that the reason why we adopted Green & Gold was to differentiate between Great Britian and us at the first modern Olympic games as we didn't have our own national anthem until the 70's and used to use"God Save The Queen" like v the Brits....New Zealand's flag is the same colour as well but it wasn't a problem for them because they don't win gold medals at the Olympics so no one cared... hahaha3 -

Beer is Australia's "super food" it has every nutrient you need for a healthy lifestyle (and gut)1 -

We picked green and gold because our national plant is the wattle tree... which is green, and you guessed it, gold...
Otherwise our national colour would be kangaroo hide brown.1 -
Do your Christmas decorations include wintery things (snowflakes, evergreens, santa on a sled in a warm coat) even though it is summer for you?0

They sure do... There is some changes happening though but I think most still follow an English Traditional Style Christmas.... It can be bloody hot, but for Christmas dinner you'll still see baked hams, Turkey with all the trimmings. Although it has changed of late for a lot of people doing BBQ's with Prawns, lobster, smoked salmon, oysters (all kinds of seafood really) really cool salads and lots and lots and lots of alcohol i.e. beer!2 -

Yes! There are people who "Australianise" their decorations, but that's not Christmas to me. Christmas in July is kind of popular - people have Christmas food, not so much decorations, to take advantage of the winter feel2 -

My favourite Aussie wording is how we'll always say the opposite of what we mean. Example:
If you're having a bad day...
"How's it goin'?"
"Not to good mate, not to good."
If you're having a good day...
"How's it goin'?"
"Aw yeah, not too bad"
It's like we can't be completely committed to if it's a good or bad day until it's over.3 -
So does kangaroo taste like chicken? Anything out of the ordinary here in the States we say tastes like chicken ie dog, cat, rattlesnake, ect.0

No, nothing like chicken. It's red meat, with a strong taste. It kind of stinks actually, but it's ok when cooked in to things. I'm not a massive fan of it cooked as a steak1 -
