    I just moved away from Katy, so I know what you're talking about with the heat. The best solution I found was to work out in early morning or late at night. It's still hot and muggy as hell, but you don't have direct sunlight on you. The other important thing that helped tremendously was to stop caring that it was hot. I found that if I fixated on it I wouldn't go outside. As soon as I stopped caring that it was hot I was able to cope much better. Also, rehydration.

    Also, if you are just running or speed walking consider visiting the Katy Mills Mall as soon as it opens. Air conditioning is a blessed comfort. I measured it with my phone GPS once, and I think it was almost a mile to do a full loop around the entire mall (inside).
