Agreed! .... and running!0 -
Don't drink soda pop, don't chew gum, and include monounsaturated oils, like olive, in your diet.0

Sucking in my tummy 24-7! LOL0

get to a lower BF%
everyone is different so what % works for you may not work for others. Myself, I'm probably going to need to be closer to 10% before it's as "flat" as I want it to be.0 -

What's wrong with chewing gum? Are you talking about even sugar free gum? I chew it all the time when I feel like snacking, maybe I should back off it.

Cut out sugar in the form of soda, candy and dessert. Its hard to do but totally worth it. If I have an event coming up in a month I go on a processed sugar fast and I can seriously lose up to about 3 inches a month...
Of course as soon as I start eating dessert again, I gain those inches back depending on how often and how much I eat. But it totally works.
If I had the self control to rid my life of desert and candy I totally would.0 -
I agree with AggieCass09... your diet is what will get rid of the belly fat. Lots of veggies and light on the fruit. The cleaner you can eat the easier it will be. Also include some light cardio to continue burning fat, but also include some core/ab strength training to tighten and pull in your abdominal muscles. Stand up straight and don't slouch. Good posture will help in burning fat and digesting food more efficiently too. Also, dark chocolate (2 oz or less daily) is full of antioxidants but can also help fight belly fat.
You've probably heard the old saying "Abs are created in the kitchen." That is very true. Good luck!0 -

I didn't know about the dark chocolate tip. Thanks for all the great info.0 -
Answer about chewing gum: I've heard that it causes people to swallow more air which can bloat your stomach. The more you chew, the more bloat you will experience.
I don't necessarily think that's a cause to stop chewing sugar free gum, especially if it is helping with cravings. So in my opinion, chew away!0 -

Isn't that only the people that chew like a cow?0 -
Most simplistic answer: lower your overall bodyfat%. If your female you can see "abs" at right around 20%. Males will see them at about 10%-12%.0

WOULD ANYONE CONSIDER SUPPLIMENTS?0

WOULD ANYONE CONSIDER SUPPLIMENTS?
None of them. However, a natural supplement called L-Carnitine has been known to help fight belly fat. It increases the Carnitine levels in our bodies naturally and can be found in any store with a supplement isle. I have no idea if it actually works though. If you wanted to consider this, I would suggest that you first Google it and do some research. There are many pro/con reviews out there.0 -

What would be considered a big gut? I went from 248 to 194 lbs. I still have some giggle but the gut is not huge anymore. I have been focusing on strength training and the abs. Haven't done much cardio lately.
Are you suggesting my mid-section is just going to get bigger?0 -

Dr. Oz had a special on this. It really is getting your body fat low enough to see the muscle & definition. However, he also recommended eating "belly busting fats" - mono & polyunsaturated fats. His recommendations were olives, pistaccios or nuts of that kind, and grapeseed oil if I remember correctly. They apparently specifically target the belly fat area....0

Lots of cardio, and tracking calories. Bellies look flat when there isn't a ring of fat around it.0
