Marinades

Question: If a marinade is used as just a coating to prepare for grill or broiling, how does one calculate calories if you are not going eat the entire marinade? Do you add the entire marinade mixture to the recipe calculator?

I never bothered with that kind of minutia...you're never going to be perfect...you only have to be good enough. Not that many marinade calories are going to stick to the meat.0

I just add the whole marinade to my calorie count0

I also don't count that. Most of my marinades are low calorie anyways, so it wouldn't make much of a difference.0

If you wanted to actually be more accurate, you should weigh the marinade...then add the meat/poultry/fish...then weigh the marinade again after you've removed the protein...you won't find much change and would probably ultimately decide it's not really worth worrying about.
If you're adding a whole marinade, you're adding a whole lot of calories that you aren't actually eating to your diary.1
