Help! I'm trying to break through weight loss plateau. I have been losing weight (1-2 lbs a week) since march with no problem. Watching my food and the kinds of foods going in. Going to the gym 5-6 days a week for about an hour. Cardio, machine weights, some resistance, stretching and crunches. The past month I haven't lost anything. I haven't gained weight. I've tried mixing up my workouts but nothing is helping.

are you using a food scale to weigh food? did you reset the amount you need to lose and your new weight into mfp? if you arent losing you are probably eating more than you think(trust me its really easy to do without a scale). are you eating back any exercise calories? a plateau is also 6-8 weeks of no loss. weight loss is also not linear so you wont lose the same every week either. are you close to that time of the month? had a lot of high sodium foods day? going to the bathroom ok?3 -
Look on the bright side: you are maintaining and getting into better shape through exercise. This is good stuff! You are probably recomping as you read this. Can you feel it?
As for dropping weight, presuming you are currently still overweight and of good health (ask your doctor), try a few fasts. Start by picking an non-exercise day and just skip a meal (typ breakfast or lunch). You can work up from there, but I don't favor complete fasts, I drink some juice, tea/coffee, broth, etc. I track and shoot for 500kcals spread through the day.
It's a great challenge and can really kick-start weight loss.2 -
