I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!! I gained 3 lbs this week. I have been logging foods and doin my water aerobics 3 days a week, adding in 10-15 min of lap swim, walks and pilates. Thought I was doing so good but here I sit. I have been hovering here almost the whole month of July. Someone please help I am lost as to what to do to make the scale go back down and the inches go away. :explode:

time of the month? Water retention? sodium?0

You're probably going to get hit with a lot of requests to open your diary...0

I don't have an answer but I'm in the same boat. I almost cried today. A friend told me to just hang in there. Easier said than done.... :flowerforyou:0

Could be water retention but I am not noticing swelling. TOM shouldn't be for about 2 wks yet. I will have to check out the sodium.0 -
The only way to know what you're doing wrong, is to see what you are eating. So I will be honest and will just request you, if you want to accept it that's fine, if not that's also fine. Good luck!!!0

Take measurements. Sometimes it can be more encouraging than the scale.0

Open up your food diary so we can all see what you're eating. It may help. One day at a time...try not to be discouraged. :flowerforyou:0

Many common medications make weight loss difficult to achieve, even when you're doing everything right. Birth control, etc.0

umm.. I actually notice that I retain water around ovulation time which is about two weeks prior to TOM :-)0

open your food diary & I would guess we can figure it out for you...0

Ovulation? I usually gain some during ovulaiton not as much as TOM. TOM is like 4 pounds and ovulation is about 2.0 -
Ok I will open my food diary for a week and also if it makes a difference the meds I am on are as follows: trazadone, cymbalta, symvastatin, protonix, daily multi vitamin/mineral, phentermine0

You could be overestimating the calories you are burning during exercise. (Do you use a hear rate monitor or just the estimates from MFP? )
You could be underestimating the amount of food you are eating. (Are you weighing all your food? Even using measuring cups and spoons can cause overestimating!)
It could also be that you need to be patient. You could have water retention, etc.. A lot of time I don't see the scale move for 3 - 4 weeks, then all of a sudden it will drop 2lbs.0 -
I'm not sure how the meds effect weight loss; may want to ask your Doctor. But, I think you should consider tracking your sugar and sodium intake. Too much sugar can def inhibit weight loss! You eat a lot of processed/prepackaged foods loaded with sugar.. soda, cereals, juice, etc.0

I see a lot of:
processed foods
high sodium foods (frozen foods)
junky fast food: there are better choices of ff out there.
I just think your calories are just too high. What is your minimum calories per day?0 -
Ok, I'm not an expert, but you are eating some pretty high fat foods and not water. You know 1,600 calories of clean food is not the same as bacon, ice cream, soda, kool-aid, and so on. Those calories accumulate during the day, so try for example, Post Raisin Bran Crunch, I think that's the name, it has a little less calories than the Kellog's and a very high fiber count. Greek yogurt is awesome, I eat that instead of ice cream. Small steps bring great results. Don't try to change everything at once. It took me almost 2 months to get used to 1,500 calories a day, and now I can do it just fine. So good luck and if you want you can take a look at my dairy and you will see that I eat a lot of food.0

Not saying this is the reason, just glanced your diary, just some observation:
* you like refined carb (white bread, pasta, garlic bread, bagels etc) --> try eat more whole grain (whole grain bread, whole grain pasta, etc)
* process food --> go with more fresh produce
* Iceberg lettuce --> go with more nutrition version: roman lettuce'0 -
I too am very frusterated. In the past I followed the Herbal Magic diet and there were a lot of ups and downs..I actually managed to take 50 pounds off at one point. Now, I am no longer on the official program ( i have gained 14 pounds back) and I signed up here..figured it would help me keep track of what I ate. Well the first few days were awesome..lost 3 ppounds , I am again following the Herbal Magic diet plan and it is slowly creeping back on. According to my food journal, I am eating under my calories, not by much 100cals or so. Def. under the carbs and fat...Why am I gaining. I find this so frusterating.
Is there any suggestions?0 -
