What is your best fitness achievement to date?

After years of not taking care of myself, I quit partying and drinking and started hitting the gym. This summer I lost over 20 pounds AND put on some muscle! I used to play soccer and run, and now for the first time in years I'm not just able to play decently, i'm actually killing it again! My biggest "achievement" is pronably just being happy and healthy. Every aspect of my life has improved.13 -
I am 5 3 and weigh around 150, have been lifting fora year or more now. I can leg press 360 lbs and squat 150..when i started body weight sqauts were a challenge. I am so proud and really learning not to look at the scale only.4

Earlier this year I did, two things:
Ran a 5k under 30 mins. (28:25) a half-marathon, my longest distance to date.
What I am more proud of though, is that my running buddy and I didn't miss a single training day leading up to the marathon. Didn't let work or the weather (and it was Some Weather) get in the way.10 -
went from 45 percent body fat to 22 percent in a little over a year12

I rollerbladed 14.5 miles the other day! It wasn't odious or some test of endurance it was just plain FUN! I also have worked up so much core strength that my back no loner hurts after my lumbar surgery last year!8

Instead of single best achievement, I like to think of all of the achievements I accomplished when in my best shape.
3 mile run: 18 minutes
5 mile trail run time: 38 minutes
First 5k run completed in combat boots and utilities
First marathon completed: unknown time but pace was around 6mph
Body type: vascular
Perfect scores in Marine Corps physical fitness test and combat fitness tests
I'm hoping to beat my previous shape by following the same routine of endurance cardio, HIIT, and weights all combined, but this time with an actual diet. I used to eat McDonalds breakfast platters and large sweet teas every morning in that shape. lol

I have a few:
- Being under 200 lbs. (I started weighing 230 lbs. and now I'm 180 lbs.)
- Finishing a 5K in 23:33 (16th overall and 5th in my age group 35-39), 10K here I come
- Squatting 70 lbs. (Using Stronglifts)7 -
The first few times I hiked trails marked "difficult" with multiple warnings and recommendations for fitness, I felt so victorious!
Finishing my first 5k - even though my time was pretty sad, that wasn't something I pictured myself ever doing.
Distances I walk and consider perfectly normal, but my friends are laughing & saying they would absolutely die if they tried it. My husband and I will walk six miles to eat dinner, no big deal.

Sprint triathlon! As a slow runner I managed to place right in the middle of the pack. It was also really fun.8

For me, it was hitting 365 consecutive days of getting 10,000 or more steps (I'm now over 600 days). It was meaningful because it was something consistent t I had done for a full year. Even on days I ate or drank too much, I still got out there and walked or ran.16

Started my journey of improved diet and exercise on a daily basis on May 9th 2017 barely able to walk two miles without being gassed. Fast forward to now with exercising (strength and cardio) every day and an extremely heathy diet....just last month ran and won my age group in a 5k. If you had told me May 8th that I'd be doing that, I would have laughed. Love working out now....huge part of my life.10

When my brother, who has been an athlete his entire life, asked me what my resting heart rate is currently (I've never been an athlete, as I have some physical limitations. I've been obese most of my life but have been working hard in the gym for 18 months and lost 105 lbs). I confirmed with my fitbit and told him my resting heart rate these days is averaging at about 53-55 bpm. He was impressed and told me doctors would consider me an athlete! That made proud and made me smile!
That’s awesome. Good for you. I’m in the same range now myself.

Post them all, and if you have pics please post them
Getting the confidence to compete in a power lifting competition.
A 235 lb. squat (when I started I couldn't even do a barbell squat without tipping over because my reconstructed foot was so weak).
Comparing side-by-sides of my back/arms/abs/legs from two years ago to now.5 -
For me it would have to do with running. I was a college athlete. I played soccer on scholarship. I was a sprinter and one of the fastest on the team, but I hated distance running. In college the best I ever did was 2.5 miles in 20 minutes and I trained my butt off for months to do that. However, once In middle school I ran a 6:18 mile and in high school I ran an 800 in under 3 minutes. I have high expectations due to this that I’ll probably never reach. Fast forward to when I started the journey to get back in shape. I was 30 and had gained over 80 pounds in part due to side effects of medications. I never thought I would run again or lose the weight. Today I have lost over 60 pounds and I am once again running. It’s a love hate relationship. I hate doing it but love when I’m done. Today I ran 3.37 miles in 36 minutes. Not the fastest time in the world but I’m just happy I can run that far without walking. I then came home and ran another mile. On the treadmill I can run 2 miles in 17 something too. I wish my pace was as good outside tho. I still want to lose about 20 more pounds and get back to my college weight. I can also do 3 pull ups and 50 push-ups. Lastly, like someone mention my resting pulse is back in the 50s.4

3x10 pullups regularly
benched 245-lbs free-weights off of just push-up tng
Could carry two 94-lbs sacks of cement, one on each shoulder for short distance, weighed 155-lbs.4 -
