This is probably the fifth time I have started one of these community weight loss efforts- I am looking for the inspiration and connection to keep it going! :flowerforyou:

Welcome and good luck. Take it slow and make small changes you will be able to stick with over time. If you try to change too much it will never stick. Yo Yo is worse then doing nothing at all.

Thanks! I'm working on this one day/one week at a time.

Finishing week 1. My observation is that it's harder than it sounds- but worth it. I already have less creaky knees and a bit more energy. My first weigh in will be Monday. I am looking forward to the result- hope it is positive!

You can do this! I'm really trying not to focus on the number on the scale. I can be totally on track, do everything right, and the number doesn't budge. This can be frustrating to me. So I am focusing on what I can control like exercising a number of minutes a day, focusing on maximum number of carbs, proteins, etc. each day. I weigh in Monday also which will be my first time. I'm going try to only weigh in once every other week. The Message Boards are great to learn new ways of doing things!

My motto is always one day at a time. And if I indulge or go over calories, just log it and try and be under the next day. It's all about consistency over time to see results, and slow and steady is the way to go to make it last long term. :)

@flaneur6 Hang in there and stop by this thread anytime. I have just been learning how to manage this whole MFP community- it's a LOT, but the daily dose of encouragement has really helped me.

I am back again. Last time was 2015! The key is sticking with it and focusing upon positive changes even if small. It all comes out good over time.

Day by day! That's how this goes. I have logged in for 27 straight days, and it really helps keep me focused. Weight loss is slow- 1.7lbs. I feel like I'm working hard at this, but I guess not hard enough! I see lots of people down 10 lbs a month- I wish I had the secret to that!

I'd love to connect with some other returnees who struggle and find out what's working ( or worked) for you. Anyone out there??

Hi. I was a returnee last April and started up a group to do a mindfulness challenge. I aimed to lose 10 lbs and lost 6 over the course of 10 weeks. I'm actively recruiting the next couple days for our group's latest 77 Day Challenge starting this Friday over here. We give a lot of positive support in our daily/weekly check-ins. I think you sound a lot like me, in that you have to tinker to figure out what works for you. And that might not be the same thing that works for somebody else. Anyway, check out our page and see if it interests you. Good luck!
