What is nsv? I've been told before but honestly I have a horrible memory.I apologize
nsv = non-scale victory
Ha ha ha.... I have been checking this thread for months and I just assumed nsv meant New Small Victory!
I see why it is non-scale, but I still like mine!
All the stories on here are always so fun and inspiring!12 -

Then I hung up a pair of shorts my husband had worn on vacation and had the same issue. What? My not-that-fat 180 pound husband's shorts don't fit the hanger either? I checked the tag, 34. No way they will fit me, but I pull them on for a laugh. They were too tight to be attractive, but I was able to get them all the way up zip and button them. Now I have a new silly goal of outshrinking my husband's clothes as well.
You hang up your shorts??
I hang everything but socks and undies. Makes it a lot easier to stay organized.
Same here. I don't even use a dresser anymore. All of my socks and underwear are in a little basket that fits in my nightstand.4 -

Last summer, the regulars at the pool were all quicker and had more stamina than I. Today, they were already in the pool when I arrived, and not only did I pass them, but I maintained my much faster pace the entire time!
Also, I have been writing and am on-track to submit my article to editors of a journal for possible publication next week. And, I've been drafting fall syllabi and preparing some lectures and classes. I haven't been able to work like this -- easily, ahead of the game, organized, feeling prepared -- in so, so long. I didn't realize how much I was dragging now that I am feeling so much better.32 -
Today was the first time since I started eating healthier (3 weeks ago) that I planned to get lunch in the cafeteria at work. I had my whole lunch planned out to be sure I would make good choices... then my boss surprised us by saying he was taking us out to lunch. While everyone else shared pepperoni pizza and piles of bread, I ordered a big salad with turkey and cheese and dressing on the side... and I was perfectly happy with it. For the first time in my life, I had zero cravings for the pizza and there was no internal struggle to have "just one slice". I couldn't believe it!29

I was buckling my seatbelt yesterday and realized I no longer need to hoist my right hip up to fasten my seatbelt because I'm no longer sitting on the connector.29

Slightly annoyed today as weather has been grumpy and has prevented any cycling for the last four days. I am seriously considering getting a waterproof jacket on and going anyway but as I wear glasses, this makes it a little difficult. Also, got on the scale this morning to a 3lb overnight gain, darn water weight!
So, feeling a bit grumpy. And annoyed. My family are pleading with the weather to improve as I am a complete b*t*h to live with if I don't get my daily cycling time.
This morning the weather is slightly brighter (read: not raining but threatening to). It's running day so I drag my son away his tablet and off we go. We (I) decide to run to the other side of town being as the ParkRun we do on a Saturday has been cancelled this week.
NSV 1: I didn't look at my phone until right towards the end of the run. Usually I look at it several times to see how much further we have. Today I didn't bother as we get there when we get there, right? We ended up going a bit too far (all of 20 metres).
NSV 2: We beat our previous fastest time for a 5km by 22 seconds. This may not sound like a lot over 5km but when you consider the steep, steep hill we went up (along with lots of other smaller hills) and the steep, steep, steep hill we ran down, that's pretty impressive. We go slowly down hills to avoid the Jack and Jill scenario - I don't need any more injuries (still getting over last year's biking accident).
NSV 3: We beat the previous fastest time for this particular run by 2 minutes and 52 seconds. That is impressive, considering what a horrible route it is.
NSV 4: On the way back, we spotted a new clothes shop (I am suddenly interested in clothes; never used to be, they were just something to hide in up until now). Unfortunately I cannot shop there as I am too small for any of the clothes. They cater for 16-36 and I'm a 10. I got such a kick out of that!
NSV 5: Instead of moping about the grotty weather, I used my b*t*h attitude on clearing out the garage. Only about half the stuff went back in. I have loads to put on Ebay and the local children's charity shop got several boxes full as well.
NSV 6: (This is a bit TMI, feel free to skip over) For some reason my DH cannot keep his hands off me. I have no idea why as I don't feel any changes have happened recently but any chance he gets he takes full advantage of. He's not been like this for years. Possibly decades even. Not that I'm complaining, mind . . .
NSV 7: The weather looks reasonable tomorrow, the alarm is set for 5am, and I am going to get out on the bike and do 50 miles before the children are out of bed. DH has got some new bits for the bike that will hopefully reduce the stress on my hands so he'll probably fit those for me today. Is is crazy to be so excited about the thought of a bike ride?30 -

That is awesome. I completed C25K in Feb. and have run in three 5K races since then. Also slow is the way to go when you are completing the program. You are working on endurance to be able to complete the distance. The speed will come when your endurance and fitness improve. Good luck with the rest of the program. You are right, you are now a runner.

The rain stopped (well, it went from torrential to light drizzle).
The wind had died down.
It was still light.
I cycled.
I got home cold, wet, dirty but completely exhilarated.
It was the best 20 miles ever.
I'm a happy bunny again having been stuck indoors for days.
It's the little things.26 -
