Will losing fat through diet and exercise help me to firm up my body at the same time?

Generally, yes. It does depend somewhat on type of exercise. A program that includes resistance training will give the best results to "firm up".2

When you lose weight, it's not all fat. You need to include some strength training in order to preserve muscle as you lose weight.1
