Bloating after beginning healthier diet?

I started my transition to a healthier lifestyle last week when I began to change my diet and make healthier eating choices. However, having cut out fizzy drinks, sweets etc to do so I have suffered major bloating despite the changes I've made. I'm just wondering if this is normal for the beginning and if yes,how long does it usually last for?

Are you eating a lot more fiber?

That would be due to the body not being used to these healthy choices. Stick with it and that should go down in a week or two :)

You should add more fiber in slowly...your body is not used to it. It can be an issue particularly if you're going way overboard.

I can see fiber doing that. I also find that for myself, the type of carbs I eat can make bloating worse. Try increasing your water intake too :)

Also, how's your fat intake? If it's too low, that can cause constipation.

Don't go crazy on the fiber all at once. Ease into it slowly.
