Hi! I've been intermittent fasting for about a month with the 16:8 method. I went from 3 meals a days plus 3 snacks, to 3 meals and no snacks and now I only eat 2 meals. My calories are the same I just eat bigger meals(for all you keyboard warriors). I was just wondering has anyone tried this and what are your experiences? Especially anyone who practised two meals a day and/or is doing it now?

You can have two meals a day, one meal a day or 10 - as long as you're in a calorie deficit you'll lose weight. You need to do what works best for you. If this is what helps you stay on track then you're doing great - don't worry about what anyone else is doing.

I eat two meals a day but not because I'm intentionally fasting. It just turns out that I work well eating a large lunch (up to 600 calories) and then a very large dinner (can be anywhere between 700 and 1000 calories depending on what we're having). If I have calories to make up, I'll force myself to eat a cup of cottage cheese in the evening, but I'm normally fine with not eating anything else after dinner.

The large dinner keeps me full well through my morning work-out until I'm ready to eat again at lunchtime the next day.

I just started IF two days ago (and there is a group on MFP for it, if you're interested), and so far it's going *mostly* well. Today is day 3 for me, and I'm doing 16:8, as well, or that's the goal. I did fine at first, but last night I couldn't sleep, was hungry and physically uncomfortable (it got up to 100 F here in Seattle, and I don't have AC) with the heat and the smoke (there's a big forest fire, too).

I wound up eating a BUNCH of saltines at about 1 in the morning. I put them in my calorie tracker, and I'm not intending to go 16 hours before eating again, but maybe I will? I had the calories to spare, so the saltine binge didn't ruin my diet plans. I know I can easily go 12 hours before eating, but I don't know if I'll make it until 5 PM, because since I started this I've been eating a bigger lunch and a light dinner.

The first 2-ish days of this went fine. I felt great, no hunger issues, I felt more clear-headed and focused, and so much less stressed about food! I've been stressing about how to get to the gym AND get some sort of breakfast before going to work. Now I just don't care about breakfast, like when I was a kid.

I have terrible food allergies, so I make everything from scratch (including sauces), and I'm finding I have a lot more free time now that I'm eating only twice a day!

It's not worrying about what someone else is doing lol it's about finding other people similar to my lifestyle to learn more, educate myself and just find and give support

I find the same that I have so much more free time and I'm not worrying about what I'm eating next constantly! Keep going!

I had tremendous success on 2 meals a day in the past. I lost over 100lbs. I've gained it back when I quit. This time around I'm OMAD and been very successful. No matter what you choose you can do it!

I've been doing this the last couple of weeks. I find that it works well for me. I don't have to worry about eating until 2 pm, I get to enjoy dinner with the family, and I run while in my fasting mode anywhere from 3 to 7 miles a day with no problems ( knock on wood). Losing fairly consistently too! I'm on a 18/6 split. My feasting period is 2 pm to 8 pm daily.
