Weight lifting routine - beginner

Hey all, as you probably seen from either my profile (if your my friend) or on here in my last post, I currently do cardio - but a little birdie has told me that weight lifting burns more - so that would be a WIN-WIN in my eyes!

I wanted your much needed help on this one, can you reccomend a beginner weight lifting routine for when I've done some cardio?
