It is possible, but few people actually get to that point. If you haven't lost weight in a few months there are steps you can take to fix it:
1. Track your food accurately: Make sure you use a food scale for absolutely everything.
2. No eating out at all. No coffee, soda, fast food, or restaurants. Their calorie listings aren't accurate.
3. Determine if your calories are appropriate for you still.
4. Finally, take a diet break for up to a month.
Typically the first three are going to work for 90% of people. Few people are completely honest and accurate with their intake. If all else fails and you really think your metabolism is screwed up taking a month off is pretty much the short term fix. Long term fix for that is building muscle.

From anorexia. 2 years ago so could be that body packed fat on after eating away my muscle.1 -

Body fat doesn't destroy muscle. Starving yourself destroys muscle. If you are trying to lose weight after battling anorexia you should be talking with a professional or your recovery team. It's a slippery slope.8 -

Try eating foods that boosts the metabolism such as Greek yogurt,Broccoli,Garlic,Green tea,Oatmeal,Turkey,Asparagus,Avocado,Spinach,Salmon,Blueberries and almonds. Remember to drink8-10 cups of water a day. Try drinking two table spoons of apple cider vinegar one table spoon per 8oz of water before bed and in the morning this will keep your metabolism working overnight. You can also Reduce your sodium intake try seasoning your food with miss dash it has no salt.25

Or have pizza and beer and stay in a caloric deficit. If your metabolism isn't already working overnight, my condolences, you're dead.

1. Foods don't boost your metabolism and that list seems pretty random anyways.
2. Neither does water
3. Or acv
4. Your metabolism works 24/7 or else you'd be dead. No need to take anything to keep it working overnight
5. Salt doesn't lower your metabolism6 -
I said to boost your metabolism!!! No worries just trying to help and salt makes you retain water weight.4

Watching Dr Oz and reading random articles is not research. I recommend you read actual scientific research @derick337. A place to start is Google scholar.4 -

Your wife is a dietitian who says you need to drink acv before bed to keep your metabolism going? What university did she get her degree from?
No the foods won't hurt but they also don't change your metabolism at all.6 -

So she should have access to the journal articles that back up your claims that the random foods you recommended boost metabolism when consumed.
They might be great foods to eat, if you enjoy them, and if you eat them in quantities to fit your goals you will lose weight, but they aren't metabolism boosting as far as I'm aware.3 -
Sorry I asked! Lol1

What is your definition of 'boost metabolism'? Can you please explain?
Do you mean that food is digested faster?
Food more thoroughly digested and thus stays longer in the gut?
More CO2 is exhaled when burning energy? (what would that do to global warming?)

To boost your metabolism is rather simple. Eat properly and exercise. Raising your heart rate boosts metabolism. Eating properly provides fuel for your body so that you maximize your potential during workouts and daily life.
There is no magic pill or food. If there was, no one would be over/under weight.1 -

The only way you can boost your metabolism to a significant degree is through exercise. Foods that are hard to chew and digest will increase it to some degree, but it isn't enough to make it worth considering. Spending more time in high temperatures can also increase your metabolism but again it is fairly marginal.0
