Ankle reconstructive surgery recovery

Well a few weeks ago I had reconstructive ankle surgery to repair damage from the army that was never repaired. Since it was found I've been paying more attention to my body as to not further the damage until the VA fixed it. Due to this I have put on 40lbs In 1 1/2 years. Very upset with this fact, however I'm motivated to get it off without re injuring myself once I am released to work out again. If anyone has any suggestions on good effective workouts that I will be able to do in the beginning I would really appreciate it.

I would defer to the surgeon/doctor about what to do and what not to do for your recovery.
In the meantime, you can track your food and calories without exercise. Exercise is not required to lose weight, although it helps.0 -
I would think you would have been referred to a physical therapist who would give you exercises to do to strengthen and increase flexibility.0

Why yes of course, I'm talking about after I'm released.0
