    I just read a case study where a couple of young healthy men died while trying to dehydrate down enough to get into a lower weight bracket for a competitive sport (something like boxing or wrestling or UFC). They used saunas as well as other methods. I'm not suggesting that your sauna suit is going to kill you, just that taking it to extremes isn't healthy. Not to mention that it's temporary.

    It's temporary water weight loss. As @goldthistime mentions there have been cases of extreme dehydration when using the suits. I have, however, seen studies that they can help with heat acclimation when used properly.

    Dehydration is never a good thing. For your body *or* for weight loss. It doesn't 'melt' fat.

    How much weight are you trying to lose?

    15-20kg..

    Hmm.. I'm from a tropical country.. so I guess, I wont use it unless I go hiking to Everest

    I got to goal weight slowly, put on a few, took them off, and am now looking at a new goal weight. I want to get there very slowly, more of a recomp than a diet. But every once in a while I think about short cuts. They're just so alluring. You're not alone.

    So can I ask, what have you tried? What are your challenges with just aiming for a small deficit?

    If you're alive and well and able to type that, then it was a fairly inexpensive lesson, well learned. We'd all like to have the weight come off with no effort, but in the words of that great modern-day philosopher Cher: "If it came in a bottle, we'd all be skinny." Best of luck to you on the long path!

    Height is 165cm.. and weighing prolly around 75kg.

    I was active before.. going to the gym every night, using this app to help me calculate my intake.. I reached my goal weight which is 60kg. though, I ended up feeling lifeless or kinda depressed. Then, I hit that plateau thingy. So I started eating and doing what I love to do, i.e. sleeping, and poof! 75kg after a year

    All I did was to eat less than 1200cal/day or sometimes I burn all the calories I gained within that day

    Ugh no. I already get hot flashes. All you lose is water, and that's temporary. I would rather stay hydrated.

    Please don't use it. Dehydration is serious business and it's miserable.

    I was chronically mildly dehyrated for months for medical reasons in the past and I cringe thinking of anyone doing it to themselves on purpose. It was living hell.

    The goal of weight loss is to lose body fat, not to manipulate water weight. Just eat at a calorie deficit and be patient. Weight loss takes time, but it's worth it.

    You're going to to harm yourself and your health going to extremes like this. Eat a reasonable amount and move a bit more. How old are you? Calorie intake is also age dependent.

    Only used it last night and never will try again. I was about to pass out due to heat.

    You need to be kinder to yourself while trying to lose weight. It's not going to happen overnight. Make small changes that can you can see sticking with. Consider therapy. It can be the best thing you do to help set yourself up for more successes in life. This coming from someone who didn't give therapy a fair chance until my 40s. I wish I had gone much sooner.

    Dehydration does not equal fat loss.

    Sweating is not an indicator of fat loss.

    Sauna suits are dangerous.
