Lets talk Meal prepping

So I saw some disposable "bento" lunch containers on Amazon. It got me to wondering if many people do this?
pre pack all their food into these type of containers so that they have visible portioned veggies, protien, and starch for the day.
Does anyone else use anything like this?

I absolutely do. I spend a few hours on sunday prepping all/most of my meals for the week (and clients). You can see my menus and meal prep pics on IG at GalwayGirl_1906 if you want ideas.
Disclaimer: I'm not selling anything on IG, just posting pics and recipes1 -
I don't do bento containers, but I "brown bag" my breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the day. I portion things out with my food scale and use pyrex containers. I usually grill a whole bunch of chicken or steaks or whatever for my wife and I to have for lunches during the week...everything else, we just prep the evening before.3

I tend to do most of my prep on Sundays too. I eat "holy crap" cereal daily, so I make 7 portions in canning jars and leave them in the fridge, I also make 2 - 3 days worth of my salads for lunches, so mornings are an easy grab and go. Dinners are mostly planned out, but not very exciting atm, meat and veggies, but about to take my slow cooker out and start doing that again... nothing like coming home to a warm, healthy cooked meal.

I use a combo of containers and mason jars for my food prep. I just make batches of whatever I am prepping for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks for the week and portion out accordingly the night before, each day. It's easy enough and keeps me on track while giving the hubs good options for his meals as well.1

I don't use bento boxes; although you can get some really cute ones. I just have a variety of containers that I use and I just do my lunch/snacks for the next day every evening. Normally it's basic, like left overs; but I meal plan to ensure that my dinner that evening can be turned into something for next days lunch (For example; roast chicken/veggies for dinner = veggie frittata with salad for lunch). It's easy, quick and saves me tons of money. Plus, I know exactly what's in the food so I can balance my whole day properly.1

only meal that i prep is my green smoothies....I dont eat until 3-7 pmish and by time i do im nice and hungry and start my "day" with my smoothie. So i like to keep them bagged frozen pre-prepped. Im a pretty minimalistic eater so nothing i eat takes much time, I dont really deal with recipes at home. My fridge isnt very cold for leftovers and both my big and fridge freezers are packed full of frozen fruits and veggies lol.
I used to try meal prepping actual recipes just for me with my fridge situation it wasnt really a thing i could keep up.0 -

Do you work nights? Or is there another reason you are not eating until late? I used to go all day not eating but realized that even on my days off, I now set an alarm for breakfast even if i crawl back into bed.0 -

lol i have always been a person who isnt hungry until i eat and then im starving. I simply prefer to eat at night, And it helps me keep my appetite under control + allows me to go to bed at night all snacked and happy and full which makes me sleep beter.
Started by just not eating until like 12 and then id force self to eat and then i realized it was dumb to rev up my appetite when it wasnt necessary and then i would be out of calories by night time when i really wanted them. So i tested out how long i could go. I just eat when hungry is all. Black coffee through the day and lots of water i was super energetic not eating until later aswell.
Edit- side bonus is im currently dating around a bit, Not eating until later ensures if someone wants to take me out for drinks or dinner, or both, I have the calories there. Yummy0 -

I was a little afraid to Google this, but I was too curious. (It's safe) Wow, that looks interesting. What does it taste like?

I use these! Well, the very similar zip-lock version. I usually aim for 5-6 components per lunch - fruit, veggie, cheese, and meat, plus egg, crackers, dried fruit and nuts, pasta and so on. I used to pack them all on the weekend, but since my husband has been cooking dinner more, I started packing the night or morning before work so I can add in some leftovers if I want. I just keep a drawer stocked with lots of options so I don't get sick of anything. Right now I'm on a hard boiled egg kick after I discovered that the pre-cooked and shelled ones were perfectly tasty. I'm kind of lazy, so anything that's prepped for me is good.0
