Feet... anybody else have this kind of insecurity?

OK, this is the first time I've ever admitted this to another human being and it is a little silly.
Ever since I was a kid I have been insecure about my feet. I never noticed, untill some adult family members pointed it out when I was young, that my great toe is really large and the rest of my toes are small. I was anorexic as a child, so anything mentioned about my body made me insecure. It seemed silly that my feet were such a big deal, so I hid them and my insecurity.
I was always so envious of people who have the average foot, you know, the second toe is longer. So silly now that I am an adult and I hear those people complain that they hate that! LOL
I never wore sandals, flip flops, or any other type of shoe that showed toes because I thought I looked deformed. My mom has the same thing, but she isn't insecure about ANYTHING! And it is a long standing joke in my family that my mom has the ugliest feet ever, mainly because they are so calloused and un-cared for. I spent hours giving myself pedicures, I hate other people touching my feet. I hate feet so much that when I was in school to become a nail tech (a program offered in high school) that I quit when it came time to learn pedicures!
So, please tell me I'm not alone in this weird insecurity so that I can go on knowing I'm not totally out of my mind. And if anyone has this weird great toe/small toe thing, it would be awesome. Are my mom and I deformed or just original? LOL

Feet look weird, PERIOD. Everyone's feet look funky.
I have huge big-toes and really long toes. Plus, apparently it's bizarre to have a "full-sized" pinkie toe with a full-sized nail on it instead of a sliver.
Who cares, though! I LOOOOOVE to go barefoot whenever possible.0 -
I have very ugly feet. LOL I'm used to the idea they are ugly and nothing I can do. :-)0
-
Awesome! I love to be barefoot too, thats why I figure now is a great time to get over it. It's hot and flip flops and bare feet are in!!!0

Don't feel insecure. Whether your big toe is longer or shorter than your second toe is purely genetics.0

i have the odest feet in the world..they are totally square, and got nicknamed tonka toys!!.i also have lymphoedema, so they swell up, along with my ankles, legs, knees..etc...but, i love having pedicures, i keep my toenails looking pretty, and if anyone comments on them, nice or not, i just laugh..after all, thats the 1 bit of me, i really cant change!
you wanna see horrid feet...victoria beckam!! yuk!!0 -
Different, Unique.... SURE!
Weird/Ugly.. Nah! As long as you take care of them and they don't smell funky!
Have to take my socks and shoes off to see if I have Unique feet, brb0 -
I don't have any issues with my feet other than my darn toe hurts. But we all have pet peeves (so to say) about our bodies. God gave them to us so enjoy!0

A LOT of people are insecure about their feet. Feet are kind of strange and unusual anyways. I think the best thing to do is take care of your feet. Massage them, take care of the nails, paint them, and make sure they are moisturized and healthy. There is nothing uglier than a nasty, crusty foot!! I used to feel weird about my feet but then I just decided forget it! It's too hot to care. As long as your feet are healthy, that's good.
And by the way, having the second toe longer than the first is not average. Most people have the big toe as largest.0 -
You're not Alone. I hate wearing flip flops bc of my pinky toes. My father bought me shoes which were too tight so my little pinky toe is a little fat. But i get pedicures regularly so my feet are always nice.0

oh I have very ugly feet... my second toe on one foot was broken and never grew back right.. so I hate showing them and Im very insecure about them.. trying to get past it.. so I understand!0
-
I'm the same way! I'd sooner get naked in front of people than take off my socks half the time!0
-
Just tell people you're a runner. Almost all runners have ugly feet. We get gnarly toes, black toe nails, ingrown toe nails, callouses three inches thick, and blisters.
You aren't alone in your sensitivity to your feet. I'm constantly messing with my feet, painting the black toe nail so it doesn't look quite as bad in sandals.0 -

I found a video of Victoria Beckhams feet. LMAO! Seriously, the things you can find on youtube......:noway:
I think her feet look fine when they aren't all scrunched up in those tiny shoes.
I have consulted about getting surgery to make my toe shorter and second toe a little longer. I was kidding when I asked about it and COMPLETELY blown away when the doctor said it's kind of common! My physical therapist talked me out of it when he told me the problems that come after such silly surgeries. He said if I want to be a runner, run with the toes God gave me.0 -

I have "long toes", but my wife has short ones. I think they are cute!0
-
As you can see I'm comfortable with my feet.
I love my feet, they are always skinny
My toes are very long, second toe way longer than the first and my pinky toe has almost no nail, but WHO CARES!
I get told I have nice/sexy feet, keep them pedicured and wear toe rings year round. Heck, I've even been hit on with messages on this sight from guys who are into feet.
I'm married & not interested.
There is no normal foot! Learn to love the one part of you that doesn't show when you've gained a few pounds!0 -
LOL!!! I wore socks for labour and delivery! So, in other words... you can see my crotch, but not my feet. bahahahahaha0

I had nurses amazed that I had a perfect pedicure and toe rings on for delivery (feet didn't swell thankfully!). Keeping my pedicure is a big deal to me & I never paint my fingernails.0 -
Just keep in mind anyone worth having around you will not love you or hate you because of your feet!
I have terrible scars on my calves because I had lymphedema which morphed into infections in my legs that took almost 3 years, many hospitalizations, and a couple of skin grafts to get rid of (and even then the only reason the grafts finally worked was because I lost weight). Can't shave my legs cause of the scars and there is a risk of my redeveloping an infection if I cut myself. On top of that because i was so heavy and carried most of my weight from the waist down, I have lots of extra skin on my thighs. Despite the hairy legs and sagging skin I wear a bathing suit, shorts, etc. If someone is grossed out then they don't have look at me! And my hubby loves me as is... lumps, bumps, and hair, lol.0 -

Me tooo!!!!!
I was more bothered by my feet than the 20 different residents and interns coming in to feel me every 15 minutes!0 -

I had to laugh because I did the same thing! I've always been self-concious about my feet as well. My toes are crooked, and don't 'go together'....there's spaces in between some of my toes. My second one kind of stands alone and the last three are basically on top of each other. And, my left foot is very dry and always cracked. My right foot is just fine. Oh well, I still wear flip-flops every chance I get!0 -
Feet dont do much for me either. Mine are normal and I take care of them. But I can NOT stand them to be touched. No pedicures or massages for me. It makes me squeamish!0

I have UGLY feet and I won't wear sandals or flip-flops. The area (I don't know what it's called) between the base of your big toe and your arch sticks out especially when I put weight on it. I think it just looks ugly. Plus I don't have toenails on my pinky toes so I only have 8 toenails instead of 10. Annnnd to make matters even worse, several years ago I broke my right pinky toe and didn't have it set so it sticks up. Just UGLY UGLY feet.0

I don't like feet, period. Anyone's feet. They just give me the willys. I don't even like my own feet, let alone someone else's! But I still prefer to have my feet as opposed to anyone else's. I have only met one person in my whole life that I looked at and thought "hmm, nice feet!"0
-
Ahbskdfajdbsf I hate my feet! When I was at my cheerleading gym's sleepover, I was sitting in a donut next to my friend who was also sitting in a donut. My feet were like, inside her donut. But they were already there because she sat in it after I was already there. You know? So a few seconds after she sat down in her donut, I moved my feet out, and she was like, "Ew! Your feet are ugly!" But they are. They look like man feet. slaignenglsigf it sucks! Why can't I have cute feet?0

I love my freaky feet! I wear a size 12 in womens or 10.5-11 mens (US sizes, huge, trust me). My second and third toe are longer than my big toe, the third only by a little, the second by a lot. Also my toes are shaped funny at the ends, I like to think they look a bit like mushrooms, with a thin stem, and they kind of balloon out at the top, also I have flat fee. My toes as well are freakishly long, I'd be a much more average shoe size if I just chopped them off, but then I wouldn't be able to pick things up off the floor with my feet so I don't have to bend over.
Everyone has weird feet, I think mine are pretty awesome, and I love pedicures! I like pretty toenails even if the toes themselves are odd.
Your feet are much more normal than mine, not to worry.0 -
Are you serious?!* I have the big big toe and the rest of my toes are smaller, and they all go down in size according to their place in the line... AND, I think that anyone who has the bigger 2nd toe, is a FREAK!!!!!
I hate feet, seriously, shudder hate... Can't stand them, they are ugly freaking gross things, i can handle my babies feet, and small children, but adult feet, urghh, foul!
i'll be in the dead of sleep, and my partner will touch my leg with his toe nail, and I will freak out and move my leg faster than a speeding bullet so it's no longer touching him or any part of his hideous feet.
I always give him hell about his ugly freaky long 2nd toe and how ugly and abnormal it is... so GO THE NORMAL TOES!!! They look normal, seriously, that's how toes are supposed to be...0
