Sorry, silly question from a newbie

Hey all, sorry to ask a dumb question, but: I'm 4 days in and not feeling hungry, except for when it's time for the next meal (so, not needing snacks). My previous experience with diets has been that I was almost always ravenous! I am eating within my daily limits and I've triple-checked that I'm entering the correct numbers. So my silly question is - am I doing this right?

Yes! Weight loss isn't punishment. If you're permanently hungry how do you think you would ever sustain it. So carry on as you are, you might have the hungries hit down the line but for now, carry on as you are.11

Sounds good to me. Keep on keeping on.1

Awesome! Thanks guys Heh, in contrast to other diets I've done, this is something I could do forever (which I will have to do, as I have a lot to lose).

You can lose weight without torturing yourself and being miserable.1

You must have your nutrition covering all the bases! Protein especially can be very satiating if you get plenty of that! Diets don't have to be horrible! Keep going!!!1

It's not a silly question - it's a good and very important one that highlights how brainwashed the diet industry has made us. I struggled with my weight for decades, and I've spent quite some time "questioning" the merits of MFP - it doesn't feel like much, so can I be sure this is "working"? But it's exactly THAT weight management is all about, the day-to-day non-sensational effort, which isn't much per day, but it's steady and every day, it keeps you happy AND your weight where you want it. There is no conflict. If you hate your "lifestyle change", it's not a lifestyle, it's just another diet.2

Ask yourself two questions.
1. Am I in a calorie deficit?
2. Am I eating well balanced meals/snacks?
If the answer is yes, then congratulations!!!! That's 90% of the battle. You are doing it right.0 -
Thanks everyone Considering I'll probably be doing this for the next year and a half (and sort of for the rest of my life) it's good to know I'm on the right track.2
