According to my FitnessPal nutrition plan 18gr of saturated fats are allowed but NO monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats should be consumed. I don't get this. Aren't unsaturated fats supposed to be "good" fats and saturated bad? Can anyone help?

The 0 is just a default, they don't purport to tell you how many you should eat1

Ok thank you, it just bothered me because when i consumed something with unsaturated fats it was indicated with a minus and red color.0

Red isn't always bad. Like the protein goal is often so low I consider it a minimum which means if I eat a proper amount i'll be in the red. I know we all like those pretty green numbers but don't fear the red too much.2

I just go to settings and change the 0 to 20. Don't see any red then.2

Well saturated fats are good now.
Haha that's how science changes for you.
But IMO saturated fats have always been good.
Eggs? Coconut oil? How could anyone knock saturated fats2

Ok then I'll consider that. Thank you.0

Not exactly. We still need to limit our consumption of saturated fats for coronary health. Here's the straight skinny from Harvard's NutritionSource:- “Good” unsaturated fats — Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats — lower disease risk. Foods high in good fats include vegetable oils (such as olive, canola, sunflower, soy, and corn), nuts, seeds, and fish.
- “Bad” fats — trans fats — increase disease risk, even when eaten in small quantities. Foods containing trans fats are primarily in processed foods made with trans fat from partially hydrogenated oil. Fortunately, trans fats have been eliminated from many of these foods.
- Saturated fats, while not as harmful as trans fats, by comparison with unsaturated fats negatively impact health and are best consumed in moderation. Foods containing large amounts of saturated fat include red meat, butter, cheese, and ice cream.
- When you cut back on foods like red meat and butter, replace them with fish, beans, nuts, and healthy oils instead of refined carbohydrates.

            I'll just leave this here

Now I am not going to sit here and bash Harvard. I am also not on the "sugar is the devil" band wagon either. I have elminated sugars in my diet for my own reasons. HOWEVER ... follow the money and you can find some interesting stuff.0

The saturated fat recommendation is the upper limit as per organized health bodies...there is currently no recommendation for mono/poly fats so they're just N/A or 0...they're good healthy fats...eat up.
In regards to Saturated fats, there's a lot of back and forth research as to whether these are really as bad as previously thought in regards to heart disease, etc...personally, I just stick with current recommendations for the most part as there really isn't any kind of consensus.
I tend towards a largely whole foods diet with lots of fish, some chicken, and beef and pork once or twice per week or so...0
