New to Keto and stuck

I'm new to dieting and am currently attempting to lose 15 pounds. I've lost 10 on a low carb ketosis diet. I'm keeping my carbs at 30g or below. The first 9 pounds went smoothly. All of a sudden I was stuck at the same weight, then gained 1-1/2 back, lost it and finally reached my first goal --10 pounds. All I do is go back and forth between 9 and 10 pounds now. I'm eating the same things but something is not working. My calories are supposed to be 1300/day but after walking or Zumba is added, it's up to 1900 on average. I never eat more than 1,100 calories so I'm not eating too much. Anyone have any advice. I've been doing this 6 weeks.

Do it another 6 weeks and see what happens. Seriously.1

9 lbs in 6 weeks is not bad. You are so close to goal - it's going to be slow going. Just keep going.
And possibly consider eating more. You eat 1100 kcals and walk or do zumba? That is not very much.0 -
And consider joining the Low Carber Daily MFP group. They might have more advice.

There are mistakes that people commonly make that cause them to not lose weight that we might be able to spot if you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings0

Thanks for the advice. I've updated my food diary to public.0

Just looking at a couple of days, it does not look like you are using a food scale - your logging will be a lot more accurate if you weigh everything except liquids. It's not that hard once you get used to it, honestly. Plus, the less you have to lose, the longer it takes, so definitely be patient! Six weeks is early days.1

I haven't used a scale. I've been going by measuring cups or actually counting parm chips or grape tomatoes. I also read every label to make sure the diary is correct. Should I weigh my chicken? If you saw my intake, I'm also low on fats, which I keep trying to improve and increase. I have avocados coming out my ears.0

Since keto is high in fat and calories can add up even from small variations and inaccuracies, weighing food is even more important. If you don't want to weigh everything, at least weigh high fat things like butter, cream, avocado...etc and use whatever measurements you usually use for low calorie vegetables.1

Ok - I'll try that. I've been using a Tbsp or Tsp for butter but I haven't been weighing the avocado. Just going by half or quarter if a medium sized avocado. I also use the ore packaged wholly guac, 2 Tbsp. Thanks for the advice.0

Hi All
I had issues at time with Keto. I actually found the I was eating too much protein, which can slow the ketosis cycle (apparently) but there must be some truth to it because when a moderated it my weight came down more. It can be difficult to get it right all the time, adjustments are needed along the way1 -
Yeah, it's good to weigh everything, but as @amusedmonkey said, it's especially important for higher calorie items. For mayo, I weight the jar, hit tare, take out what I'm using, then weight it again - the negative number is how much the portion you've used weighs. Same for butter, salad dressings, and so on. I would definitely weigh your chicken, cheese, really everything until your logging starts to match up with your weight loss (or lack thereof). If you are in a deficit, you will lose weight.1

I wondered about the protein being the cause. I am supposed to have 10% carbs, 15% protein and 75% fats. I am usually good for carbs but more like 20-25% protein and the rest fats. The first 10 pounds worked that way but not any longer.0

I can't see your diary but I am curious about your fat intake. Are you maxing that out? A lot of people stall because they think they have to meet that goal. It's fat to SATIETY. If you are hitting your fat goal daily back off of it some. Carbs is a hard limit you set for yourself. Meet your protein goal daily as long as its moderate then fill in the fat. When full .. stop.
Hope this helps!0
