What's your favourite cheat meal once you hit your weekly goals after a week a week of hard training eating clean tracking your macros ? Cheat meal or a cheat day ?

Why do that to yourself all week, if it requires you to "cheat"?
It's like putting everything in to having an amazing relationship but spending a few hours on the weekend being a player.
I don't eat clean or cheat. Negative food associations are not healthy imo. I track macros, but plan to spread my calories across the week so I have less on some days to allow for more on one day - this gives me the chance to enjoy more indulgent food without sacrificing my goals.5 -
If you're killing it all week, you earn the right to reward yourself. How you choose to do that should be uniquely your choice. My choice of late has been to use my exercise calories for ice cream. I've become somewhat bored of that, so I'm casting about for another method.1

I've been doing it for the last 8 weeks mainly as I wanted to get in better shape for my holiday middle of next month. Gonna try get down to 10% already looking leaner it works for me.
But once I am back I will still eat clean il take it bit easier maybe up my calories for maintenance but I will still avoid gluten foods and dairy foods which I've taken out. I enjoy eating healthy food my skin, hair nails all looks feels better.0 -
why use such a negative word? and why use food as a reward? isn't it better to aim for a non-food treat for staying on track all week?...... just saying.0

Reward yourself with anything but food. Food is a terrible reward because you are reinforcing old habits which put you in the position of having to diet in the first place. Practice portion control, if you mess up note what the circumstances were then avoid that kind of circumstance, but never think of it as a reward1

Totally agree with this and exactly what I do too0 -
Don't reward yourself for following your meal and exercise plan. If you feel the need to reward yourself, you may want to adjust your plan.
Don't cheat. A healthy relationship with food doesn't have room for cheating.
Why are you avoiding gluten and dairy? And what do you mean by eating clean, and more importantly, how does the idea that you are eating clean, make you feel and want?0 -
I do this bro. The 'cheat' meal thing for lack of a better word. I actually do it to maintain a diet that keeps my macros and micros on point while giving me the maximum amount of energy to get me through all the workouts I do each week but to make things easier for me when it comes to meal prep as well.
Trying to just wing it and have foods I enjoy through the week and recalculating my macros for every meal i want each day would just be so time consuming and I don't have the time to do it.
So instead I eat the same thing 6 days a week and recalculate on the 7th day to factor in other foods I want to eat.
I don't see my lifestyle as clean but calculated and I don't see a cheat meal as a reward but more so a varied meal day.0 -
I like to think of it as balance. Instead of scheduling a 'cheat meal' I try to eat well most of the time and allow myself to have a little bit of the 'bad' things I enjoy when I feel like it. Kind of training myself for surviving when I am in situations where all kinds deliciousness are all around and theres no way of escape. If that makes any sense0

So you do IIFYM and your food fits your goals? Completely different to clean eating and a cheat meal imo!0
