Everyday my food cravings get so intense around lunch and dinner time - I try to do well by bringing my lunch then I get craving for crap food and end up getting and eating crap food in addition to my lunch so basically 2 lunches !!! How do I fix this because clearly I do not have the will to just do it!?

    You don't.
Plan your food so it allows you to eat before the massive binge cravings and also includes bits of favorite treats and under calories.
For me this means I focus on getting lots of protein as it fils me up and Then bulky veggies but I work I things like gelato and beer too

I don't particularly like crap food...I enjoy quality home cooked meals for the most part...I find them far more delicious. What are you bringing for lunch? Quality nutrition doesn't have to be bland or boring...it can be very delicious.

Think about why you like it? Is it the taste? Is it the social aspect? Why do you like it so much? Once you have thought about that? Think about how it makes you feel afterwards? Good? Happy? Satiated? Hungry? Bad? Lethargic? Etc.

Don't guilt and shame yourself for liking certain things. Maybe make room for one or two things you absolutey love, eat it and enjoy it. And don't feel bad for eating something you can't live without.

You may need to experiment to figure out an eating strategy that works for you. Everyone is different, but nobody is really unique, so browse some threads here to see what others do and try them for yourself.

Personally, I find that a small breakfast, medium lunch, and larger dinner, plus a couple of snacks in between, is good for me, and that foods high in protein keep me feeling satiated longer. But others do better by, say, skipping breakfast altogether, or maybe find high fiber foods more filling, or whatever. It's something you'll have to determine through trial and error, yourself.

Generally, you're probably missing fat and salt. Try adding them to your planned meals in a controlled way and you might find the cravings drastically reduced (for example, celery dipped in a little salt helps to take the edge off for me when I'm craving potato chips. It might not be the greatest for my blood pressure but at least I can control my overall calorie intake and how much salt I'm taking in).

Don't worry too much about making your meals totally 'clean'. A bit of fat in your diet is healthy and salt isn't bad in reasonable quantities (unless you've been warned off it by your doctor or something).

Agreed on adding fat and salt. I find I miss umami flavors the most; soy sauce on/in certain dishes helps me feel satisfied. Also keep healthier options on hand; when you have cravings, they'll go away after you've eaten an apple and a banana and some carrot sticks. Use food cravings as motivation to reach for less processed foods, and you might find yourself slowly rewiring your brain.

Stay busy! When I'm craving anything I distract myself with work or an activity, and before I know it, I've made it through to my next meal time.

I enjoy every meal I take to work (well mostly). If i like Chinese food I try to make the healthier version to take to work or I make a stir fry with brown rice at home so I can enjoy my lunch and not be tempted with other foods because i enjoyed what i eat. Plus it helps to take snacks.

Tbh I realized that food was THE thing I looked forward to daily bc I didn't ever make time for fun and that was why I ate junk all the time. Once I intentionally built me time into my schedule it's been easier bc I have something else to look forward to. I'm a little jealous of people for whom healthy substitutes work but for me, I eat the healthy alternatives and then spend the rest of the day angry that I spent calories on something I didn't even want. They just never seem to do the trick for me even when it's something I like for its own sake. But having something fun to look forward to instead of food? That has worked wonders on my food choices. So if you're like me and eating a banana instead of a cookie makes you angry at bananas then maybe just make sure you're getting some time for you in, even if it means the housework has to wait a little longer.

I have a hard time resisting processed foods so I make sure to have plenty of whole natural foods available and avoid the other stuff.

I've also learned to get used to being a little more hungry than I used to be. It's a process.
