Feeling dizzy / light headed when working on a task

Hi I get this sometimes when I'm working on a task, today I was working on stacking magazines on a book shelf for the local library I sometimes work at and I was crouched on the floor sorting and when I stood up I felt very dizzy almost to the point I thought I was going to pass out and I get this a lot it goes away just as fast as it comes on. My doctor said it's called orthostatic hypotension which is basically low blood pressure when standing, and my doctor tells me to stand slowly from when I'm sitting... does anyone have any advice for this? I don't eat breakfast and not sure if that has anything to do with it. Thanks

You don't believe your doctors advice?6

Are you still doing a fruit/juice "cleanse"? I'm sure that and sharp calorie restriction isn't going to help either.7

I do but it doesn't really help it.
So go back to your doctor....1 -
Are you eating enough daily calories for your height? It almost sounds like how I feel when I starve.3

Since you're here, I'm guessing it's related to your caloric intake.
How many calories do you consume?
What's your height weight and age?0 -
Orthostatic hypotension is common. Your Dr has given general advice.
If your symptoms are bothering you, go back to your own doctor or get a second opinion.

I get it too and have off and on all my life. It is worse when I am either not eating enough or dehydrated. It's not a big deal, unless you actually pass out. That can be embarrassing.0

I get orthostatic hypotension often, and usually treat it by sitting down and sipping on a small bottle of Powerade Zero, just enough for the dizzy feeling to stop. It's the only sports drink I've seen so far that has a fairly low amount of sodium in it (100mg per 8 oz) so it won't wreck any sodium intake limits.0

The treatment, since you have your diagnosis, is to get up slowly.1

Follow your Dr's advice.
You may also want to review your calorie and nutrition goals. You are a 200lbs man and eating 1500 a day. That is pretty low. I hope you are eating your exercise calories back.

Exactly why you're dizzy ^0

Eat more. Drink more water. Stand up more slowly.0
