I've just had a look at mine, and I am quite excited. It looks challenging, def, but not too awful! May make a start tonight ;)

*phew* just did it. That was a bit of a challenge, but I find her really good and inspirational so I kept on pushing!

Day 5 complete! I had to reduce the size of my hand weights because my shoulders have been really sore the last couple of days - to the point where I had to do a couple of the strength exercises without weights. As a result, I've been burning less calories according to my HRM, but better to be safe than sorry.

I'm a bit gutted though. I just couldn't get through the 6 week 6 pack DVD today. Only managed 15 minutes before collapsing on the floor. I'm putting it down to the rare heat in London today.

    Looking forward to tomorrow!

Congratulations.. We can work on this together. Nothing like being a bride to whoop you into gear. When in September do you get married? I'm getting married on the 9th in a tiny little English country hotel in the Yorkshire dales.

I'm getting married on the 15th in Tuscany! So we both have countryside weddings - so exciting!

Just left a message on your wall asking.. ooh thats where we are going on Honeymoon. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Just finished Day 4, Level 1 and I can definately feel a difference in my body. Day 1 and 2 were hard going and Day 3 seemed worse...I could really feel my upper arms and thighs burning yesterday. Today was much better so maybe I've broken through the pain barrier now!! lol. I like the fact that its only 20 minutes and I think that in itself its motivation to keep going.....when I'm huffing and puffing my way through the exercises I keep thinking ''I can do this...not much longer to go now''. Good luck to everyone starting tomorrow. Can't wait to compare our results at the end of the month! :-) x

Gah!! I have gained a whole kg in a week! I read somewhere that people tend to gain weight in the first few days due to water retention. I hope this is only short term as it is so disheartening. I watch and log every calorie and have stuck to exercising religiously so it's horrible to see this much gain. Have vowed not to look at the scales until the end of the shred. It's too depressing :(

Just did day 2. Wow that was harder. Getting the boy to rub some anti-flamme all over tonight as can't be too sore for kickboxing tomorrow!
  • Whoop so done day 1 level 1 got hubby to be involved with me too.. he is naturally slim and not one for working out so I am super pleased. It was good and a fab way to start my day. I am doing this on top of my usual workouts as I want to be white dress ready by September 9th.. soo I have added a little more to the cool down. Help prevent any stiffness and pain. I have a 1hr Zumba class to teach this evening so want to be ok for that.

Also how should I record this on MFP ? Not sure what to put in under exercise what is everyone else putting?

Someone mentioned gaining weight .. I did try to quote but it kept bringing up the wrong post so doing this way.....

Sounds crazy but to prevent water retention drink more water.. and watch your salt intake. It will soon come off.. and remember your building lean muscle. Lean muscle weighs more but takes less space.. as you tone your weight may stay the same or even go up a little but its how your clothes feel thats the main.

I'm putting it down as circuit training too, but the calories offered by MFP are way out compared to my HRM. Be careful!

    Check out this thread http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/295893-30-day-shred-newbies

I have just completed day 10. Day's 1-3 were hard - working muscles that haven't been worked like that for ages. My quads burned and sitting down and standing up was hard but from day 4 onwards it all got better.

Is it too late to join in? I completed it a couple of months back, but I restarted yesterday with heavier weights and deeper movements. Having some people to struggle through it with this time would be really nice!

Today will be day 2 for me (once the boyfriend has left for work).

I ordered mine today, just got back from a very indulgent holiday so hoping once it arrives it will kick me back into touch!

I might be a few days behind everyone though, hopefully Amazon won't take too long though!

Day 6 complete! The workout is definitely getting easier but I sweat a lot today simply because it's so hot in London and the fan in my living room just doesn't cut it!

If it gets even easier tomorrow, I might move onto level 2 on day 8.

I'm still frustrated by this weight gain, but I've visited the loo loads today and convinced it's water weight so hopefully it goes down. Also, I feel extremely bloated but that's surely the water weight too :(

Well, I hadn't heard of the 30 day shred, until now.

It is however ordered and on the way!!!!!

I wont be able to join you as it obviously wont be here for you guys starting, but if someone could let me know how you guys get on and what the results are like - then it would be very much appreciated!!!

    Thanks xx

I would also like to know. Going to skim through that thread posted on pg2.

Have taken my before pics. Front and side. Will take back tonight as I'm sure 2 days won't make a huge diff in photo taking.
  • Hi,

Just did day one again (tested it out once last week but then wanted to wait until the 1st to get used to the diet factor from last week). There are general listiings but I found if you are 175 its about 190 calories. I will see if I can share my tracker so you can calculate with your own weights :).

    Feelin' awesome!!!!!!!!!!
  • type in "Jillian michaels 30 day step 1" and see if it comes up - good luck to all!!!!

Day 3 done. Found I got more motivation in the last set of cardio. Took a back shot today. God, didn't realise I was that fat. Pictures are horrible things.
People's success stories from 30DS keep me going!

Good news - I took a sneak peek at the scales this morning (after peeing for England) and that extra kg has slid off overnight, so it was just water weight. Phew! :)
  • On day #2 of 30. When I first viewed this video I really thought it would be a piece of cake, I was wrong. My quads are so sore I can barely sit down at work or give my 4 year old a bath! Today was a bit easier because I knew what to expect. I have to modify a few things because of lower back problems but I have done both days completely to the best of my ability. I am really hoping this can jump start my weight loss because Jillian with her phoning it in at the gym and that awful music just might be the death of me! :o)

Just finished my 6th day with Level 1. Increased my weights with some exercise 5LB and some 10LBS. Also, added 10 minutes of walking and then 20 minutes of running since Jillian was really tightening up my calves. Now when I workout with Jillian No pain and even feel better the next day.
