Usually I run before eating, and don't usually eat till after 1 pm and I am fine, but today I feel like I could eat anything and everything! Do you ever just get hit by hunger that feels like it consumes you?

If I don't eat enough the day before I wake up starving.

Yes! Actually, I've already eaten about 1000 kcal today and it's only 8:30 am. But I've been up since 1am and I'm about to go to bed in the next hr as I work 12 hr nights 3 nights a week.

Assuming you aren't cutting your calories too low in general...go run. Exercise usually takes that hunger down a notch for me.

I already did  Now I'm just staring at my desk wishing it was edible! It wasn't even a long run day....just 5 miles today.

When and what are you eating around your runs?

I'm usually fine the day of long runs, but the next day kills me. My dietitian is working with me on meal/food timing on this one. I've found that I am much less likely to gnaw my arm off -- or, in turn, be angry with myself for being hungry -- if I make sure that I grab some combination of carb + protein within 30 minutes after a run. It takes 100 calories out of the day's budget, but it makes the next day go much easier.

I am ok after running... but lifting heavy is another story. I could eat the world after a good lifting session!

I get ravenous on days I don't run. (If I take a rest day)
I could take bites out of my walls.

Also I find if I eat a heavy meal late at night the next morning I wake up starving and can't get enough to eat.
When I cut off my eating earlier in the evening, the next day I won't eat/feel hungry until 1 or 2pm.

how was your fueling before and after your run? I find that if I don't get something carb-ish in right after, then I spend the day wanting to eat anything and everything around me

Yup that is me today. we just had a staff function and i stuffed my face. Seems as if I cant eat enough today. Could possibly be because I did 2 workout sessions yesterday.

Anyway, one day wont kill you.

Both true for me. The second one gets especially bad if the big meal the night before is carb heavy.

Yes...it was a run day yesterday with Bench Press so I was hungry this morning...but same thing happens after dead lift day and a walk which was Tuesday...

My schedule pretty much guarantees I am hungry most mornings...I run 3x a week...lift heavy 4x a week and my deads are the day after and before a run day..

Runger does that especially when you're already targeting a calorie deficit. Most days are fine and then BAM, insatiable hunger. Gotta fuel to perform. On the plus side, if you're running enough to get runger then you probably have the room in your calorie totals.
