Was told everyone at work thinks I'm prego

I had this happen once. My son was a year old and a patient of mine asked when I was due (and I definitely wasn't pregnant). I went home, burned the shirt I was wearing and decided I was going to lose. Use it as fuel to make them eat their words.5

That is terrible! I had a coworker a few weeks ago who speaks very little english ask if I was Pregnant ( So not, just carry my weight in my stomach). I laughed it off but it was definitely a shot to the ego!2

Someone actually asked me if I was pregnant recently. Uh, I'm 55 and really not planning on kids. Of course, I had just had abdominal surgery and was horribly bloated up from that. But still - what a rude question!
And me being me, I told them "no, I'm not pregnant but you're due shortly aren't you?" I was not in a good mood.12 -

I even laughed with co-workers about it later and teased myself about my bulky sweater today.
But seriously! Wtf! Hurtful! Going home and incorporating wine into my dinner calories.
Everyone thinks you are pregnant today? As if you suddenly got pregnant enough to show overnight?? Unless you work with a group of mentally challenged people whoever told you this was just being mean. If you've recently lost some weight she may be trying to make you feel bad in an effort to make herself feel better.
Ignore her/them. Stick to your plan and meet your goals.4 -

I think there was a quotation mark there. As in, 'Today, someone said "Everyone thinks you're pregnant"'.
(Sorry, couldn't help it.)
OP, after reading that this woman is your supervisor... wow. Just wow. Can't see her lasting very long if that's the way she treats people. I have a sneaking suspicion that you'll get the last laugh here.4 -

Ya a few years back, I was in a parking lot and saw a woman with a car that had stalled in the row. I asked her if she wanted me to help her push it into a spot. She said, "But you're pregnant!" I said, "No, just fat." I tossed that shirt after getting home and looking at myself in the mirror.
I could understand her confusion and don't blame her at all.4 -

I too have responded with "nope, just fat" a few times.
It definitely catches the people saying it off guard because they don't expect to be called on their rude comment. I, on the other hand, do blame them because it's just flat out rude.3 -

With the possible exception of the situation in the OP, I really don't think people are saying it to be rude. It may feel rude on the receiving end, but I don't think that was the intent.2 -

It might not be intended to be rude, but it is certainly thoughtless. Somewhat astonishingly given my wine belly, this has almost never happened to me. The one time it did in recent memory was at a fancy dinner with a bunch of my husband's clients and his boss. The gentleman who asked when I was due was hard of hearing so I had to repeat myself. It was... uncomfortable. I'm certain he wasn't trying to be rude, but I wasn't the one who made that situation awkward.

Oh Lordy, two things (I am OP)... yes Prego the pregnant not the sauce - ha. I actually abbreviated bc I wasn't so sure the thread would allow such a long title. But I do love that you all think I am saucy .
The other being yes, "today" now yesterday, I got the comment. I assume they "All" have thought it for days, not over night.
Also, I do think it was only my supervisor, not a wide group of co-workers, although maybe wishful thinking?
Eh, whatever you guys!!! It felt hurtful yesterday, today I find it just mildly stupid. No one's belly (Well, most anyways!!) is flat, and I'm not letting one dumb person make me derail. It was the first time ever someone had said something like that to me, and wow, it certainly made me realize how insensitive people are!!!5 -

I somehow missed the person commenting was your supervisor. Completely inappropriate on a whole different level. Can you report her to HR?1 -
When my aunt was pregnant my baby cousin ran over to me and asked if I had a baby in my belly too. *cries*
So hurtful a childs honestly is...
That was about 60 pounds/7 years ago.
Still upsets me. Sigh.

Extremely rude. Don't we always wish we said something different after these things pass?!
Unbelievable.1 -
A couple of years ago I went on a series of medications that made me store fat on my abdomen.
A person at work congratulated me and patted my belly.
I told her in no uncertain terms that I was NOT pregnant but had just gained weight.
Not long after I was quite unwell and required 9 months off work. During this time my medications were changed and I lost my belly.
On my first day back I crossed paths with this lady. She said, 'oh! You had the baby!'
I denied any baby and she didn't believe me. At all.
It became a bit of a running joke at work that I had been a surrogate or adopted a child out.

That wouldn't even be a joke. Whether it was true or not, it's a personal choice or someone else's health issues, not gossip fodder.3 -
Years ago (before I had a kid), I would sometimes drop my husband off where he worked at the time. One day I asked him when his boss was due. She looked like she was only weeks away from delivering. Yeah. She wasn't. He said a LOT of people ask that. It's just the way she carries extra weight. Thankful I asked my husband and not her, but I learned never to assume that.

Oh boy. I know that feeling, I overheard my youngest nephew asking my mum if I was a few months ago.. Nope, I'm just fat because I gained all my lost weight back plus extra. Really though, I felt awful after hearing that.2

Same here. I've lost 80lbs and feel great except I can't get rid of my stomach. If I wear a dress I look pregnant. I'm working on though.1

That was so rude. Some people deserve all their chocolate chips in thier chocolate chip cookies to be raisins!6

Incorporate Hyperextensions and vacuum poses into your workouts. Builds a little core strength that's great for posture, which helps give the illusion of a smaller stomach/waistline. Can't spot reduce fat, but sometimes just the illusion is good enough until the body decides that belly fat is where to lose from.0 -
Wow. Even if they thought that, why would she say that? She revealed something to you, that says something not very nice about her.
