Skyped with a friend who I haven't seen in 1 month and he mentioned I look thinner. Why, I am. Thank you! ;-)
Non-NSV: I bought a pair of very stretchy jeans about this time last year when I was 10 lb bigger. They still fit tight in the legs, but kind of stretched in the waist. They don't fit poorly enough for me to get a new pair.... And I kinda just want to get new jeans already14 -
The park we run at is underwater at the moment (thanks Harvey) so we ran our c25k on the treadmill at the gym. NSV for my husband as well since he said he was really looking forward to running today and didn't want to skip it.
Also: counting my blessings and praying for the folks who are suffering from the storm.19 -
wore my new jeans (36" waist) to work today - so sitting all day, and they are comfy
and I didn't over heat putting them on after swimming! big win there as I always have dreaded putting on tight jeans! (I say tight, some may say they fit!)
and my mate said they are still baggy around the legs! (no way will a 34" fit yet so just have to cope)15 -
Didn't think I'd be back so soon, but...
During my recent trip I went to a concert and really wanted to get this one particular t-shirt, because for a whole host of reasons the singer and song are tied into my weight loss/self love/health improvement journey. I resolved to get it one size too small, partly for motivation and partly to remind myself not to be afraid or ashamed of numbers on a tag. Wouldn't you know they only had a small available.
I got it anyway.
The small fits.
Now it's just a matter of fitting better.30 -

I lost a wedding ring that way. Get a ring guard to ensure it stays on your finger until you're ready to have it resized.
Or you can do like I did and buy a cheapo one until you are sure you are going to keep the weight off. Although my cheapo one is too big now...I get so nervous when I think about being "fat me" again.

Temp was 48F when dog and I left the house this morning for our 3 1/2 mile walk, so I threw a light jersey over my T and shorts. It was the first time I wore that jersey since May, and today it nearly covered my entire shorts! Only the bottom inch could be seen.
That's when I realized my butt and hips no longer held up the jersey, and it fell straight down! Happy me & happy dog22 -
Wearing my skinny jeans today - tight in the legs but too big in the waist!20

The leap I feel in my heart now when I see myself in a window reflection....i am making this happen....and that's me!!!24
-
I no longer feel like my high waist pants are trying to cut me in half.20
-
The tightest pants I own no longer give me a waist rash after wearing them all day.21
-
Size 12 jeans today. Starting to think calf size is going to be a limiting factor on pants size from here on down more than waist.21
-
I have to buy new scrub bottoms bc mine are too baggy. Had a patient & coworker comment on weight loss this week. (10 pound in 2 months)21

Saw some jeans and shorts on clearance. Picked up the size 4 without trying them on and they both fit!
Side benefit and NSV by association: DH has been dropping weight by following along with me. His new pants are now size 34 down from a 38.19 -
Every time I leave Dunkin Donuts with only an iced coffee in my hand- it's a non scale victory

I started working out, and discovered that I actually like exercising.
My 3rd day at the gym my legs were jelly, but I wasn't tired. I only stopped because I was worried my knees would give out underneath me.
my 7th day at the gym my heart rate has slowed from upper 170's to the 150's at a moderate clip on the elliptical.
I'm excited to see what my body can do!32 -
This is actually a scale-related victory, but......for the first time in a very long time, within Normal BMI. Discovered that I am actually 1/2" shorter than I thought, so that also delayed reaching 'normal'.
24 -
Went to the gym this morning. Wore a pair of black leggings that I have had for a bit, but I don't believe them to be stretched out.. I was afraid I was going to moon the weight room. Those puppies just wouldn't stay up.23

I'm short, so have to move the driver's seat in my car seat pretty far forward to reach the pedals. I was driving around yesterday and thought I needed to move the seat up (spouse was driving last). I didn't -- the seat was as far forward as it goes. The steering wheel just wasn't touching my belly.29

^This! Over the past two years, I have lost 1/2 inch in height. I'll be 60 next month so I guess it's true you shrink with age. What bugs me most is the effect on my BMI.13 -
I bought new jeans exactly a week ago. And I don't fit into them anymore....24

Ugh. This. I am especially attached to two pairs of leggings I've had for a while but now when I wear them I look like I've pooped my pants they're so baggy.24 -
I am new to this but I am proud to say that I have joined a gym and have worked out consistently for 3 weeks. I can tell my core is stronger. My posture is better. Now if I can just get all this fat from around my toning muscles.....25

Tell me about it! I used to be 5'3" at some point in time, now I'm only 5'1". It's not just shrinking, I have scoliosis adding to my shrinkage.
My BMI would be significantly different if I were my true height.
I still weigh less than I weighed at my eighth grade weigh in (when I measured 5'3"), and I'm 55 now, so I'm happy about that!15 -
Had an amazing day today - started off with our weekly 5k ParkRun. My older son and I have a new PB - 36 minutes and 25 seconds. We WILL get under 30 minutes!
My DH younger son and 4yo daughter were volunteers at the ParkRun today - they all had the job of "funnel manager" and it was wonderful to be greeted by the smiling faces of my beloved family, especially as my 4yo shouted out "Well done!" and high-fived us both. We waited to watch the remainder of the runners come in and my little girl was shouting "Well done!" to everyone - there were 450 runners today! Bless her, she made such a difference to a lot of people, a few didn't see her at all but those that did all smiled and thanked her. A little bit of lightness at the end of a hard run. And she really enjoyed doing it. But I think that what she really enjoyed was wearing an adult hi-vis jacket - it completely covered her. She must have been the youngest volunteer there today
The really funny thing was, when I got to the funnel, I didn't stop running. I just carried on. Another volunteer said to me, "It's okay, you can stop running now, you've finished the course!". I didn't even realise that I'd carried on running. Not sure if that is good or bad though.
Also got chatting to a guy about half-marathons as he does a few - this is what I'm aiming for, after the 10k. My boy isn't quite so keen at the moment but he didn't want to do the 10k either. But we're only doing that because he decided to. It's odd, as I was quite happy to stick with the 5k and to try to improve the time. But now it's like an addiction and I just want to run further and further. Planning to complete the 10k/start the half training by the end of the year. Maybe by this time next year I'll be aiming for marathon training
Went for a family bike ride this afternoon, so did some more cycling tuition with my younger son. He did really well and was much less wobbly. His confidence is improving all of the time. Part of the ride was up an incredibly steep hill that I've not been up for over a year (it's part of a cycle track - I do roads these days) so I wasn't sure if I'd make it. Told my son that I'd go ahead and wait for him at the top and off I went. Got to the top without coming off, so was very pleased with myself. Looked back down the hill and saw my son struggling to push his bike up, parked my bike, ran down the hill and pushed his bike up it as well. So I went up the hill twice It was a good outing though, really made us work. Lots of hills, lots of fun. And it's wonderful to see my youngest son improving - he took a long time to decide to learn to cycle (we'd been going to the sessions for 18 months before he wanted to have a go) and now he appears to love it. He's found something he enjoys, he's got his own bike and he seems to get real pleasure from it. Well, he was smiling when he got back home, anyway.
Then my 17yo wanted to carry on with her C25K when she got home from work. I'm quite impressed with her, I thought that she'd give up after week 1 but she's kept going. This is the teenager who thought that exercise was getting out of bed in the mornings. She's back to college next week so that may affect her C25K as she'll be walking two miles a day/five days a week. But the running is only 30 minutes extra/three times a week and it will give her a bit of time to work any annoyances off.
More family fun tomorrow with the Junior ParkRun, my 4yo is very excited about it and is going to try to knock a few more seconds off her time. She wants me to run with her, so her dad, brothers and sister are all volunteering to help out.
Family time is wonderful I love that my family are becoming so active. And not just active, but enjoying the activity as well. Hopefully this enjoyment of being active will continue into their adult lives.33 -
I can deadlift 135 lbs which means the plates are full sized and the bar is the right distance from the floor. I'm lifting big people weights!
Also: wore tight fitting workout shorts to the gym instead of my baggy ones. Felt confident and my husband said I looked hot. I'm glad at least one person thinks so.30 -
Love all these, it's so motivating to read all your successes!
I've had one this week & I was so grateful because I have been carrying water weight. I knew this was the case, but I still felt demoralised.
I like to listen to podcasts at work & as my new smaller work trousers have no pockets (right girls??) I have taken to tucking my phone into my shoulder straps. It's been quite a good solution but this week I thought something jaggy has stuck to my case - it hurt! Turns out there's just less cushioning on my shoulder & it was digging into my bones! Treating myself to an arm strap.....20 -

I am so feeling you on this. I started buying 'stop gap' clothes off the high street now 20 years ago ... It's a long time to not be excited about any of my clothes, and makes me sad to think about the lack of ability to express myself at that level (#FirstWorldProblems). I've still got 50 more pounds to lose until I get to where I was the last time I felt I could wear more or less what I wanted, but your success is inspiring.
Since I feel like I should include one of my own NSVs here, I'll add that in my first 100 days on this site I lost 5 inches off my waist, and since I'm an apple shape I'm beyond chuffed about that!25 -
