HELP!

Hi. I'm new to the site. Learned about it from my dear friend Pat in Georgia. I'm a 68 year old woman with type 2 diabetes and currently weigh 212. My doctor wants me down to 140 as I'm only 5'4". Gained most of my weight after my retirement . Also have been dealing with anxiety issues and depression so currently taking Zoloft and Xanax. Don't know if these can cause weight gain? Anyway I have good intentions but if I get upset/stressed I eat. Try to exercise at least 30 minutes everyday but with neuropathy in my feet and a loss of balance at times it's hard. Seems like I'm a wreak. Lol. Any help and encouragement I can get would be appreciated. Thanks for listening.

You don't have to exercise to lose weight, and medications don't make you gain weight, but they can mess with your appetite, and if you eat too much, you gain weight.
Set up your account to lose 2 pounds per week, and you get a calorie goal to hit. Log everything you eat, after you've weighed it and used correct database entries. Hit your calorie goal +/-50 every day, and don't cheat. This will make you lose weight.0 -
It's going to be all in what you eat! Veggies, good carbs, minimal sugar would be a good place to start. There are also different programs out there that can help you with making a change in what you typically eat. I myself use one of those types of programs. You've got this!! Good Luck!!2
