I'm 5'3" and have been struggling with eating disorders and body image issues since I was 13, though the most I've ever weighed is about 135 in high school. I had my first baby last year in December and weighed 138 right before my son was born after gaining 33 lbs, which I guess can be considered a success, but I still have about 10 lbs to go before I get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. As far as I've come, eating right and exercising can still be difficult, but it's always worth it for my own health and to be a positive role model for my son. Even on the hard days, every day that you wake up and do your best is better than not trying at all!5

Please feel free to add me! I need all the motivation I can get.

Left: June 2015, 175 lbs
Middle: October 2016, 114 lbs
Right: July 2017, 118 lbs (ate more and focused on weight lifting)
I've done the yo-yo dieting thing more times than I can count. This time I took it slowly, learned to cook well, tried out different ways of being active before deciding what I enjoy. I never quit when I got to my goal, I just added in some calories for maintenance (and then more to add muscle) and kept logging/exercising.
Hi you look blooming awesome. Your before pic is where I am now.
I'd really appreciate if you could share what a typical days eating would be.
Thank you5 -
5'4", starting weight 150, current weight 123. Got down to 110 (way too skinny for me) due to some health issues, got up as high as 129 after my appetite came back, lost a few more through eating more sensibly and have been maintaining at 123 for last 6 months or so (right pic was in April 2017).15 -
Keep em coming 5'2 here and just starting, these stories and pics keep me totally focused and motivated!3

Everyone is so inspiring here! I started two weeks ago at 250 (I am 5'3"). My beginning goal is to get under 200 as a start! Anyone feel free to add me!4

So inspiring! Congrats y'all. I gained the 20 pounds it took me 9 months to lose, in 2016. But what the heck here I am one more time and I love this thread, cheers!4

The center picture of myself at a camping trip is what started it all. I looked at myself and I was seriously like WTF?! where did I go? I'm 5'2 and I was 160 pounds when I got back from that trip. I had to make a change. It's only been 6 weeks since that picture and I'm still working on it! Feel free to add me as I definitely do have days where I lack motivation! I love seeing pictures of progress so feel free to share those too!!!

Welcome to MFP, this is my before and after if sorts. I started at 244 at 43 and now I'm still pretty close to that but about 166 currently. My goal was 144 but at 146 I didn't look like I was healthy. I started just by trying to make changes that I could really live with and getting active. Now I will be the first one to say I would never be a gym bunny but that's exactly what I became. I love working and seeing what my body can accomplish. I would suggest taking your time, being honest with yourself, logging everything that goes in your mouth. Getting active, start slow and do something you like. Don't focus on what you think you can't do or accomplish- it can and will happen when you are ready.
Chat with MFP pals, real life pals may change over time. But remember this is all about you, only you have control over this and your worth it.
Best Wishes.
You look gorgeous!!! A very beautiful and classy lady,in both pics. But in your healthier pic,you look younger and glowing!! Great work!!0 -
My biggest weight was in Feb and I was 216. I joined the vas move program and now I am down to 157. I was always skinny and active before the military. When I can out of the military I got medicated and gained over 80 pounds. I am 5 ft 3

Wow - thank you to everyone who has posted - you are inspiring! I'm 5'2", currently at 201 pounds. The weight is coming off very, very slowly (and that includes working out 3-4 times a week and staying at 1200 calories!) but it's coming off. Other than a brief foray to 193 last winter, this is the lowest I've been able to maintain in more than 10 years. I was at 255 at my highest and I know if I don't focus, it could happen again. You all are exactly what I needed to see this week! - thank you!
Also - it's so interesting to see how differently everyone carries their weight. Every body is so different!2 -
Thanks for sharing your stories . They are very inspiring. I'm 5'2

Feel free to add me. I started around 250 and I’m almost at 210.. I expect the Loss is going to slow considerably now. Wouldn’t mind more height-like friends

I am not done but the left is 152 and right is 132 and I am 5'1. I'd still like to lose around 20lbs as I'm still in between 8-10 pants with a goal of 2-4 (US sizes). It's hard to find a pic of me at 152 that isn't just my face.5

I should mention that I average around 1500 cals a day. I don't break my fast until around 1. Have a 500 cal lunch and about a 1000 cal dinner. I did this since my husband is the one that cooks... and this way my kids are not introduced to the diet culture yet. I dont snack at all though and am quite active while only working out for 45 min, 5 days a week.3

Ugh! How sad to see that 3 yrs ago I had lost so much. Started over this year at 155 and I’m back to 152🙈 I am determined to learn how to maintain this year! Goal weight is not the finish line...it’s just the first leg of the lifelong race.4
