Do you respect hyenas?

Well, when I was a little kid at the zoo looking at hyenas an adult told me a story of someone falling in and being eaten by hyenas. It terrified me which was funny to them. I've never really gotten over that and I'm in my 40's now. I don't disrespect them but feel pretty uncomfortable with them so I wouldn't think they were cool.

I can't tell or they look more like a dog or a cat.
I find them cute and creepy
that's what i think is the issue with them. people can't place them, so they're disturbing. it's like a mixture of coffee and tea. your brain goes UNNATURAL!!
they're actually felines . . . ish. i think the wikipedia word was feliform. so they really are hybridy because a lot of their social behaviour is more canine.
i like hyaenas. i thought it was so insanely cool when i found out they're not really part of any of the other species boxes. raccoons though. ain't nothing i can find to like about a raccoon.1 -

That is amazing, I always thought that they were more closely related to canines0 -

Imma try it without the smiley faces.
*Bunch of laughing hysterically faces*
Cat's and dogs can bite your face off yet we still cuddling them. Also don't think a rabid hyena would need the bath salts in order to be vicious0 -

Is it because they eat their prey starting at the butt? You do what you gotta do to survive in the wild.
I've never seen so much disdain for an animal.
Why are there no sports teams named after hyenas? There are snakes, birds, cats, but never the hyena. Bulldogs? Dude, a bulldog is the equivalent of your tubby uncle in a post-buffet coma. That's not the spirit you wanna channel on the field, in my opinion.
Now, a hyena... A HYENA will wreck your *kitten*. BADLY. Lol.
And such cuties to boot!
TIL I'm a hyena
