I miss Borders bookstore -- the smell of coffee when you walked in the door, all the books and big armchairs. Went under due to Amazon.

^^^This. It was my second home while in undergrad in New Orleans. RIP Borders. Uh I hate you Amazon and WFM!!!!!!! :p

It's beautiful though. Everything has a pinkish cast.

News - The Walter Cronkite/Eric Sevareid fact-checked and then double fact-checked kind
Broadcast TV - Time to come in from catching fireflies to see my favorite show, otherwise it was gone until the reruns (gasp) !
Moon landings - Each one was so amazing. The nation - and I think the world - stopped what it was doing to watch.

I had no idea how good we had it back then.

I want an ipod nano. Apple stopped making them and now I'm having nostalgia throwbacks.

    Tower Records

Records, turntables and record stores. I know records and turn tables have come back a little, but mine all got warped being in storage for so long. :'(

    (

Nothing quite like going through a dusty bin of albums looking for treasure.
I have a couple of turntables up and running and a pretty solid collection of albums.
Digital audio can't compete with a great analog set up.

I remember those days of going through the bins! Miss that! So true, digital doesn't compare at all. I almost cried when I found my albums had gotten all warped and I had to throw them out. :(

I miss the record shop in my town too. The guy who owned it introduced me to a lot of music I probably wouldn't have heard otherwise. It's the place that really got me loving music. It went under a few years back and I actually felt like crying when the guy who owned the shop delivered my Amazon parcel a few months ago
