Pulling my jeans on and off without having to undo them!20

I was shopping for a couple of pieces of clothing yesterday, and had to ask the lady working there to help me find them.
Her: "What size are you? A 9/10?"
Me: "Ha ha ha ha!! ... No."
I'm a 12/14, but started as a 22/24. The idea that someone would guess I'm that small is just nuts. But the reality is that I'm not that far away from it. And I never even thought I COULD be smaller than a 14. Crazy.25 -
I was able to fit into a smaller since of jeans I would've thought possible
Also I got my period and moody, sad, feeling sorry for myself me thought it was a good idea to go grocery shopping and get some chocolate. The victory being that I did buy chocolate but not the rest of the stores worth of unhealthy food.
And that while I was hungry. Granted, I did take a shopping and accountability buddy with me in the store but still.16 -

The decision to take an accountability buddy was all yours! It's a victory, you get to own it.20 -

I am so feeling you on this. I started buying 'stop gap' clothes off the high street now 20 years ago ... It's a long time to not be excited about any of my clothes, and makes me sad to think about the lack of ability to express myself at that level (#FirstWorldProblems). I've still got 50 more pounds to lose until I get to where I was the last time I felt I could wear more or less what I wanted, but your success is inspiring.
Since I feel like I should include one of my own NSVs here, I'll add that in my first 100 days on this site I lost 5 inches off my waist, and since I'm an apple shape I'm beyond chuffed about that!
So I posted a few days ago saying that the last time I was able to wear pretty much whatever I wanted was 20 years ago. True. But the last time I could wear things that had a shape (i.e., before I started going for the huge shirt + leggings look) and were vaguely cute—even if not my ideal aesthetic—was early 2013. I just tried some dresses from then and got them on! Only one fit well enough to take a place back on a hanger but I should be in the other ones within another week or two at this rate, I'd say. Even having one piece back in the closet is SUCH a great feeling!24 -
Took a video of myself doing assisted pull ups and I will be dipped..... I have back muscles... I HAVE BACK MUSCLES...did you catch that: I HAVE BACK MUSCLES. I was so happy to meet them.....they were a bit shy but now that I know they are there I am going to force them out of their shell more often ....prolly till it burns quite a bit....37

I eat almost no mass-market highly processed foods - not a self-righteous orthorexic thing, just taste preferences. But one of my very few long term trigger foods is the old-school taco flavor Doritos. Many times in the distant past, I've sat down and eaten a whole bag by myself.
In the last few years, I've bought a bag occasionally. While I haven't done that crazy "whole bag" thing, it hasn't always been pretty.
Last night, I finished the most recent bag. For maybe the first time ever, I moderated my way through the bag. I think I had 2oz once, otherwise just 1oz at a time. Feels like a maintenance NSV!
Still not going to buy them more than once every few months, though.43 -
I work in a grocery store bakery as a cake decorator, and I'm in my third month with ZERO snacking at work!! That's difficult as everyone is literally snagging extra cookies, brownie and cake trimmings, etc.46

My total cholesterol went from 237 in Dec, to 220 in July, to 182 now. That's borderline high to normal! All through changes to diet.

PB at the 5k ParkRun this morning - 35 minutes 33 seconds.
Little by little, that time is coming down . . . the highest time I had for a 5k was a couple of seconds under 47 minutes, about eight weeks ago.

Bought some shorts at Walmart. The waist is 10" smaller than the pants I was wearing a year ago.31

I ran 2 miles. I haven't been able to run since April bc of injuries, and I ran and it felt fine! Wohoo!!!
At Costco the check out lady asked if I needed help out to the car bc the guy putting the items in the cart made the boxes "super heavy". I declined, and the guy commented, "of course she doesn't need help! Her arms are bigger than mine! Look at her rocking that tank top!" Made me smile. And I wasn't even second guessing myself thinking he said my arms were huge and fat--knew he meant there was muscle there! and truly, the boxes didn't even feel that heavy34 -
Today I ran a 10k...pretty easily after following my training plan. I have already plotted out a HM in December.32

Awh, thanks. I hadn't really thought of it that way, but you're right!13 -
I went bra shopping today for the first time since I started to lose weight... my bras were now on the tightest set of hooks, and I wasn't sure if it was from my weight loss or because they were getting old. The ladies in the store helped me find my current correct size, and I did go down a band size (yay!) but nothing else up there went down (double yay). So in 2 months I've gone from a 38D to a 36DDD.21

I walked in a 5K event this morning and my pace was 14:50 per mile. It's been more than a few years since I was <15:00 per mile, and I am so happy with speedier me!28

Lasted 42 minutes on Jacob's ladder at 68-70 pace POURING SWEAT but kept going! Could only do two minutes 3 months ago!
Wow, so impressive! Great job! How long after finishing the program did you run your race!
I started the C25K on April 1st and ran that 10 K on May 3rd!!

At the gym-and just doing some weights before work. A guy on the recline leg press pushing 180--grunting and heaving. I thought maybe he is recovering from an illness or something---you never know someone else's story---but when he finishes he just gets off--no wipe down, and is kinda strutting his stuff in front of mirror.
I asked if he was done with machine, and he says"Sure---do you want some help to take some of this weight off--sweetie?"
SWEETIE???
"Nah!" , says I. "I'm adding another 50 pounds to each side.
"You're lifting 280?"
"For my first rep of 12--then it's 380, then 450 then 500---but I only do 6 at 500 so far"
SWEETIE!!
Had a guy come running over the other day when I put the pin on 200 and added a 5 pound weight to the stack on leg adductor machine. "No no no---you can't do that--you have to start lower...."
I pretended not to hear 'What's that?" I say as I promptly lift the 205--12 reps from 7 apart mark to close
At least he had the good grace to laugh, and say he needs to stop assuming things when he sees women working out--he said he can only get to 160!
Not bad for a 61 year old broad---BUT as strong as my legs are I still cannot do ONE SINGLE REGULAR PUSHUP!!81 -
The husband wanted Bob Evans for dinner....I got a grilled chicken salad....and it came with bread. My husband chose the pumpkin bread so I did too. It looked so yummy, but I shoved mine towards him. I passed on pumpkin bread. In the past I would have gotten another 2 slices with extra butter....And I still have about half of my salad for lunch tomorrow28

I stayed on my spooking horse today bareback. I usually do, but it is always a victory, haha. Apparently my horse thinks longhorn cows are the devil. They look cool though.
Health wise, I lost an inch off of my waist, which gives me less of a chance for heart problems. Also, I didn't realize how quickly my pants would become baggy. I may have to go shopping for jeans sooner than I thought.23 -
I've injured my hip abductor. How is that a NSV? My google-fu turned up multiple hits that all start with phrases like... "Many athletes" and "Runners often."
Haha! Google thinks I'm an athlete. Silly google.
(Also, foam rolling comes straight from hell. Definitely the devil's handiwork.)
Maybe this won't qualify as a NSV, since it has to do with weight... but...
I've gained 5 pounds this month and l've lost 2 clothing sizes. I freaking love lifting!29 -
So sorry that all mine seem sweat related but I've just finished my workout & happened to glance in the mirror while switching on the shower. I have sweat collected in the triangular bit by my throat & ontop of an area where my collar bones are. Big deal, right? Well, to the best of my knowledge those have never really been visible before...
They aren't completely there & there's still a bit to go before they unveil themselves properly I think, but there's enough of a dip to collect workout water in - good grief....never thought I'd see the day! Can only attribute it to exercise because I've been a couple of pounds lighter before & no sign....22 -
You know you are really losing weight when your stretchy clothes are big on you. I'm holding off on buying work pants until it's closer to end of the year, but I don't know how much longer I can wait. I was thinking I had time since stretchy clothes can last longer but that's not happening. I think I'm in-between sizes now. I'm probably a size 10.5 in women's pants if such a size existed. All the small size belts I purchased are now big. Now my bra band size is really getting big and I can't ignore it. I'm on the smallest bra hook. I've been in denial because I spent so much buying bras from the VictoriaSecret store. I didn't think I would lose that much up top this fast. I may have to manually add my own bra hooks if that's even possible For reference, I started in January at 36B, in May I was 34C and yesterday I tried on a 32D I purchased during the victoriassecret semi-annual sale and it fits. I probably need to go back to the store to be fitted again.20

My smallest pair of jeans not only fit but we're too loose yesterday.20

Didn't expect 2 in one day, but another totally unexpected one....my lovely, supportive husband (who has lost a stone himself!) insisted we go to a sports shop this morning to buy proper workout gear. I was going to treat myself in 2lbs time (treat every 10lb, I've promised myself) but even my smallest leggings are too big & my feet "sloshed" in my trainers. Complete surprise & I am so grateful for his support...and that he was the one to say "You can't carry on pulling up your trousers halfway through a workout, must be so annoying for you!"
Feeling very....strange..? because I kept going for the larger sizes & he kept saying it's be too big! I know he's right but it's just not sinking in.
I'm a lucky lass.
Edit: just been taking the tags off there & the top I got is 3 sizes smaller than the one I wore to go out in today (thought it was a bit baggy). Was pleased with the trousers being one size down but that has blown me away. Had no idea as the hanger just said large! Today is the gift that just keeps giving!!

This morning I was able to wrap on of the small regular size towels around myself after I got out of the shower and I was completely covered. Before I was having to use the longer beach towels to be covered.29

I had so many NSVs to go along with my long run this week. I'm training for my second half marathon. My first was last February, right around when I started using MFP and was 30 lbs heavier. Today was my longest long run in quite a while. I don't use my running belt except on my longer runs, so I hadn't put it on since February. Here's what happened when I tried it on this morning (it was pretty tight around my waist before):
I'm shooting for a 10-15 minute reduction in my half marathon time, but that seemed a little ambitious. So I started comparing my runs from my last training cycle to this training cycle. Here's the difference for my 9.5 mile run between last cycle and today:
That PR looks like it might just be possible!

This is only true first thing in the morning, when I hold my stomach muscles in... but today my stomach is flat from my ribcage down to my belly button! Below that is still a big bulge of flabby loose skin from weight loss, but the upper half looks pretty good! Before I started losing weight, my stomach was HUGE due to hormones produced by my ovarian tumor, and it's been the slowest thing to improve. For a long while I looked like a normal sized person attached to a giant belly. I'm finally under a 35 inch waist too, which moves me out of the metabolic syndrome cutoff zone for women. For my height I should be under 32 inches and I'm not there yet, but it's beginning to seem possible. It was 48 when I started!28
