I've been on Qlaira for the past 8 months and it hasn't increased my appetite or incite mood swings, in fact, it has actually reduced both during my period compared to how it used to be. No acne, minimal menstrual pains and a light blood flow. Very happy with it and will continue to use it0

Actually it isn't because we're able to choose, to not overeat; while using it!0 -

No birth control causes weight gain. You cause that yourself.3

This isn't necessarily true. When your hormones are jacked up, the thyroid can be affected which affects your metabolism. At that point it's no longer about CICO.0 -

There's a pretty great YouTube personality called FemmeHead who talks about the FAM method (fertility awareness) to prevent pregnancy and she talks a ton about various benefits of getting off hormonal birth control. Obviously not for everyone, but if that interests you at all I think she's very interesting to listen to and seems very well-researched for not being a medical professional.
I don't know how old you are and if you are finished having kids or do want kids in the future. But I must say that vasectomies aren't nearly as crazy as I thought they might be. My husband got one while we were still dating and I am eternally grateful! haha (neither of us ever wanted children and we were in our thirties already). It cost about a grand with no insurance at that time, and was worth every penny to us. I was with him during the procedure and it reminded me less of surgery and more of going with a friend to get a tattoo or piercing (though in a spotless medical office instead).
Two of my girlfriends had Essure and said it was crazy painful. One of them wound up having to get a traditional tubal ligation because it didn't "take" on one side. The other friend was told she could drive home afterward and return to work the next day. She was in bed for a week...this chick is tough, she has 4 kids and said it was worse than childbirth. Then I've heard other women saying Essure is the best and painless...everyone's experience will be a little different, I guess!0 -

That's not 100%. There's still one person you're not protected from - the holder of the key.0 -

What that means' that the CICO amount changes but all weight gain/loss' dependent, solely upon calorie consumption! Believing otherwise's like believing that none of those people'd be able to starve to death, everyone's capable of starving to death if they don't consume enough calories; regardless of any medical issues!
For example I've Chronic Fatigue Syndrome {CFS}, someday's I am bedridden, mostly I'm housebound & the remaining I am able to run errands! If I consumed the same amount of calories, upon the days; that I'm able to run errands & upon the days, that I am bedridden; I'd gain weight because obviously the amount of calories that're necessary for me to consume, when I'm able to get out of bed; aren't necessary when I am unable to get out of bed!1
