I'm considering doing the 12-day Wild Rose Cleanse and looking for feedback from anyone who has done this. I have never done anything like it before and would love to hear other people's experience with it.

Why are you doing a cleanse? What is it supposed to clean?2
-
Woo. There is nothing in your body that needs cleansing.3
-
What is the purpose?3
-
Save your money. Your liver and kidneys do all the cleansing your body needs.4
-
Oh no, not another "cleanse"3

Since this is your 1st post--I assume you are new. Cleanses have a bad rap on MFP. It is just diarrea by another name and people that have done it for awhile sometimes end up in the hospital. Re-evaluate your decision. Just following MFP will give you good results--no fads needed.11

lol I don't think this is the place to ask about any cleanses or detoxes.. as far as I'm concerned they are unnecessary and are used by people who are impatient.2

The Wild Rose Cleanse will be successful for you if your purpose is to get rid of some extra money that you no longer need. Your organs do all the cleansing your body needs.11

You should stick with never have done anything like this before - or in the future. You'll be much better off that way.3

I haven't done this myself, so take this with a grain of salt. My sister did a cleanse once, though. One of the herbs in this cleanse is a laxative. You'll most likely spend more time in the bathroom as you eliminate more often. A good portion of the weight you lose will be water weight, not fat. I don't believe this will jump start your metabolism. I think you might suffer some headaches for the first couple of days. My sister felt some flu-like symptoms and stomach cramps. I'm a believer in this MFP program. You'll also lose some water weight on MFP at first, but you will then lose fat. In addition, you'll learn how to eat for real living instead of depriving yourself. I dunno. Obviously, it's your call.7

The beauty of "cleanse" marketing in general is they tell you ahead of time that you will feel like crap and have digestive problems. They tell you those are symptoms of detox, but they are really a symptom of taking a laxative while undereating and probably going through caffeine withdrawal.
Are you looking for a jumpstart? Do you feel heavy and tired and want to shake yourself up and get heading in the right direction? Here is my FREE 6 step plan for you:- Set up your profile here and say you want to lose 1 lb per week.
- Log onto Amazon and spend $15 on a digital food scale with a flat tray and tare function.
- Go to the Success & Motivation forum here and start reading about all the people who changed their lives and health by eating everything in moderation and logging.
- Start logging your food accurately and consistently.
- If you need some kind of "event" to kick things off, toss any foods you have in the house that you can't control yourself with, and spend a little time creating a grocery list that will set you up for success. Feel free to wear a tiara or party dress while you do this.
- Dance around the living room knowing you feel a million times better than you would if you were in the middle of some "cleanse".

This is a really bad idea...

Dear @sweetredroo
Don't be intimidated that your idea wasn't greeted with encouragement. It's hard when that happens, but it's a wonderful thing to learn to challenge your thoughts. Don't believe everything you think.
You've done really well for seeking advice in the forum. The forum has helped me lose 80 lbs and keep it off over a year. I have never done a cleanse.
There is so much good information in the forum community, and many kind, helpful, and successful people.

Cleanses are politely named laxative abuse.
When you unintentionally start pooping your brains out, you generally consider that a bad thing, right? So why is it suddenly good when you plan it in advance?8 -

True, it probably wouldn't sell as well if they called it "Planned Pooping".4 -
"Wild Rose Gut-ache" sounds much more honest than cleanse.1
