My first NSV since starting my journey in July is feeling my hips and ribs through my belly again while laying down on my back. My belly is still big, but it's getting the super soft pizza-dough type feeling again. I know most people hate it when their bellies get extra mushy, but for me it shows progress that I can FEEL! I personally love it!
I know, I'm weird. Haha
Congrats on everyones NSVs!!! You're all doing fantastic!27 -
Went to a comic convention dressed as what I'm in my profile picture.
I was actually getting comments on how I looked fit or buff or whatever.
I still feel so small and scrawny/fat, but it felt pretty nice getting compliments like that.20 -
wore a body clinging dress to work today. i've been eyeballing it for over a month but today i felt confident it wearing it27

I hurt my knee on the 6th and have been out of running while the swelling went down this week. Doctorcleared me to run starting today and I went for a 1.5 mile gentle run. A few things are victory here
1. 1.5 miles was a gentle easy run not horrible and hard
2. I went back to running instead of using this as an excuse to binge on cookies and chips and hang on the couch
3. I listened to the doctor for the week off.
I am imposing rest on myself for some shoulder pain and so I feel your struggle, it can be hard to rest. But making things worse is never a good thing.10 -
found a pair of brown suede 2 inch heels I used to wear YEARS ago...back when my feet were a size 7. I put them on and they fit again....so damn cute with the dress I have on today. I heart today.31

My NSV is being able to walk a total of 8 to 10 miles through out the day.. 8:30-9:30am- 3 miles, 11am-1130am- 2 miles then 9:30-11:00pm 3 to 4.5 Miles Without it effecting my every day stuff. Like focusing during work or having the energy for my shift.
Orginally if I walked to work(2 mile) and completed 3 miles, I couldn't get focused or feel so great for my shift.20 -
Was on a walk this morning when spouse texted to let me know the cable guy would be there in 15 minutes (I'd scheduled this but spaced it). So I ran (ok, jogged) home. It's been years since I've run and I forgot how good it felt -- even in my broken down old shoes and without a proper sports bra.
I made it home with a few minutes to spare, too.32 -
With the weather getting cooler, I ventured into my closet to see if my old size 16 pants fit. I haven't worn them since 2015. Without the aid of shapewear, I was able to button and zip them but they were still too tight in the legs and gave me a pretty major muffin top. I was happy but also bummed they were not suitable to wear in public. Went to put them back in the closet when I noticed they were actually size 14!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed the 16s and they fit perfectly! And I figure I'm about 5 lbs away from the 14s being wearable which means I'm about to double the size of my fall wardrobe. That's progress baby!45

Well it seems that 40 lbs is the magic number. Have really not had anyone comment on my weight loss until today - and 4 different people told me 'I'd lost a lot of weight!' LOL!
It also was a closet-purge day. Switching from summer to fall wardrobe was a good opportunity to go through everything. Turns out I did not have any pants left that fit - NONE. So, dropped the purged clothes off at the back door of the thrift shop and went shopping through the front door. Left with a bag of pants for under $50! All new-with-tags! Score!32 -
i had a consult with a plastic surgeon regarding my loose skin on Friday. I weigh about 40% of my maximum size. It did not go well at all and was beyond demoralizing. I did not eat my feelings afterwards. I'm also very proud of the fact that I told him to bug off about my arms because I am actually proud of how toned they are and don't focus on the skin there.35

We had to buy a bigger dresser because I have 3 drawers full of workout clothes now rather than 1/2 a drawer!26

I have a Lululemon winter coat that I wore 3 years ago. I love it and have wanted to be able to zip it again. I tried it on today (I restarted on August 1st and am at 39lbs down) and it zips!!!! It's tight and wouldn't be comfy right now but it zips!!!! Lol. By winter it will be perfect. Unfortunately my North Face is already too big.15

I went to Aldo to try on a pair of fall that come up the calf but below the knee. In the past, I could not zip those type of boots up. Now they zip right up!
I also tried a size 8 H&M button-up shirt and it fit over my chest without puckering. I lost a little in the bust but also lost from my back. Still, s little snug in the arms but I'll get there!22 -
Finished B210K today. 8.9km in 1 hour 10 minutes including warmup & cooldown. Next Sunday I have a 10K race... can't wait!40

I stopped by a pharmacy blood pressure machine to check my blood pressure. It was 106/75! Mine is not normally high, but I don't ever remember it being so low! I guess all my hard work is paying off.28

I used a bmi calculator today wondering how much I have reduced my bmi since starting my weight loss journey and realized that I am no longer obese! I actually fall in the overweight category! I haven't been in that category in just over a decade, so it was a very exciting realization. Not to mention an excellent motivator to keep doing what I am doing because clearly it is working.

Haven't caught any of them in years, since moving to the West Coast. But I have caught sturgeon, so makes up for it.5 -
I have some shape to my face again! It's so much easier to contour when there's actually a contour instead of just fat.22

We're in a weekend trip and the hotel has a pool, but I didn't bring a swimsuit. Yesterday I swam in my sports bra and compression shorts. I showed my midriff to people. No one ran away in horror. And I'm about to do it again.49

I live in SW Florida and managed to NOT stress eat during the whole Hurricane Irma debacle because I stocked up on ONLY healthy foods instead of using it as an excuse to pig out.42

I went to the mall looking for a dress for a friends wedding. I am now in between 10 and 12.
Still didn'tfind perfect dress. But felt great about the tightest part being the bust or maybe skirt not hitting at right length vs too tight at belly24 -
Had a C-PTSD episode about running and my fitness goals in general. Lunch ALMOST turned into an emotional binge. I caught myself, and instead of giving in or beating myself up, I went to the gym and finished up my workout with a practice run on the treadmills for the (now two) events I have coming up.
That's a victory in and of itself, but it gets better. First attempt at actually running the full 5k distance, at the end of my regular workout, not really pushing myself because all I really wanted out of it was to see how I could do comfortably, while still feeling the effects of being sick - I did it in 37:03; way better than I expected for the circumstances.31 -
My waist must finally be getting smaller because even in my poorly fitting bra my boobs look huge in proportion to my tummy today!24

My ParkRun was cancelled yesterday (there was a charity run on at the park we use) and I really missed it. I'm counting this as an NSV as a year ago, even just six months ago, had you told me that I would be running on a regular basis, or that I would enjoy it and want to run, I would have died laughing. I've always hated running but now I can't wait to get out there and just do it. I semi-hate my non-running days (but the cycling kind of makes up for it).
I have to mention my children, being as I'm talking about running. My son has continued to run with me and we are now heading towards a 10k. He had to have a minor operation on his scalp last week and insisted that we run in the morning (we usually go at night) before the procedure so that we wouldn't miss our run.
My teenage daughter, despite moaning the whole time we are running, has further surprised me by continuing the C25K program. Go, girl! (But please stop moaning . . .)
My younger son, although he says that he's not doing it, has started bursts of spontaneous running.
My lovely, adorable, four-year old today completed her 5th Junior ParkRun. She ran over half of it. With her first, she ran about 10%. I am so proud of her. Plus, she's knocked over four minutes off her first time and has achieved a personal best at each run. She doesn't worry in the slightest about being the last through the finish line and just has a great time participating. This absolutely fills me with joy. She's also started walking further and faster - today she probably walked two miles on top of her run. At this rate she'll be running a mile faster than I can.
And we all volunteer at the ParkRuns, even my little girl - she stands at the point between the finish line and the token hand-out point telling each and every person (last time there were 500+ participants at the main ParkRun) who passes her, "Well done!". She gets some nice reactions. She looks cute as well, in her adult-size hi-vis vest that envelopes her and almost touches the ground!36 -
I can wear men's novelty tees from Walmart. I've always been too big for the 3x and now they fit fine. I get more compliments on this silly Snapcat shirt too. Yay progress!24

My husband and I ran/walked a 5k yesterday, our first one! We are still only on wk 3 of c25k but wanted to do this race because the cause is special to us - it was to benefit the West Cancer Center, where my husband's skin cancer was treated. He's still recovering his stamina after being under general anesthesia all day less than two weeks ago, and the route was very hot with no trees, but we placed in the middle of the field and according to a mapping app we ran more than half the time, a little more than 22 and a half minutes running out of our total race time of 44:16 - pretty good for a couple of 49 year olds who never ran a step until just recently! I'm so proud of him, and I feel great today and can't wait to do it again!

I get this - I posted a couple of months ago when I first started that my big belly belly felt hard. Now after almost 2 months, it's starting to feel squishy. I love it.13 -
Just passed 1000 km on the odometer of my indoor bike , all pedalled by me since the day I bought it!32
