I was eating snack bars like Nature Valley and such and while they sound healthy I asked myself "do I really need all of this sugar and stuff?" So I switched to just nuts.
I have nothing against peanuts but like pistachios they in natural form can get a little messy. Also got to watch the salt a bit too.
I crumble one on top of my Greek yogurt and grapes for breakfast, but that's one bar out of a two-bar pack. I don't snack on them.0 -
Why are people saying "watch the salt content" on peanuts?, peanuts contain virtually no salt. Unless you purposely buy 'salted peanuts'2

I'm upset no one has mentioned the pecan nut. I love pecans.3

As far as nuts and seeds go I would just say the most important thing is to get them unsalted.1

yum, I love them all, if I am drinking wine. I will eat them all. so yummy. fattening. they say just a handful, who the hell can stop at a handful? not me!0

I would not say that. I don't like nuts without salt. Roasted and salted for me. And sometimes sweetened or spiced. I love all the nuts!
Except black walnuts. Too much bite and makes my tongue all bumpy.0 -

Just blew thru 2.5# of "fancy" unsalted mixed nuts - - 1/4 cup at a time - - that I got at Costco only a week ago.
Logged them and stayed w/in my cal limits but they are addictive (even when unsalted) . Had to give up too many protein (for carb/fat) cals to eat them, so probably not going to buy another container
Too expensive to each that frequently anyway.
Think the problem is/was that they were all shelled and I could just grab and toss them in my mouth. Too easy to do.
I eat much fewer when I have to shell them and I actually have a bowl of walnuts and a bag of pistachios that I didn't even touch when I went on this nut binge. LOL!0
