I can do this!

30 year old newlywed mother (10 year old from first marriage) at a desk job, generally hermitized. Started tipping past 30 BMI, and tried just general portion control, which was working until I quit sticking to it. I'm hoping keeping track of everything will really help me stick with it. Trying to add little things to my daily routine to help me stay fit and get more fit (drinking water all day, paying attention to posture, short sessions of "desk-ercize" at work, brisk walk on my lunch break when I don't have errands to run, yoga when I'm on conference calls). I also like to go hiking and backpacking on the rare weekends that are available.
My ultimate goal is to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, and regain my former flexibility. For now, though, the first goals are to get below 30 BMI, maintain it (ideally, continue dropping), and get a normal range of motion back in my hips.
