Diabetic LCHF diet over all.

Hi MFP, I am not new to this site. I just fell off the wagon 3yrs ago and just now getting back on track. My A1C was 10 and my glucose was 212 per phone call from Dr.s office on Aug. 18th. On that day, I started back with the LCHF diet. I started keeping a food diary on Aug 27th and doing good tracking everything. I would like to get some friends that eat healthy (and keep close to 1200 or above calories. (I try to do 1200 to 1500). And have open diary's so I may be able to get some ideas as to what to make/eat. My morning fasting is at 109 now. So I am heading in right direction. (I have also lost some weight too :)

Sorry to hear about your fall off the wagon but welcome back regardless. I suggest you check out the following main low carber daily forum group here in MFP. It's where most of us Ketophiles tend to hang out:

Ladipoet, I am a member of that group. I am not so low carb as to be on keto (I don't think), try to keep it under 100, but not real low into 30's or lower.

Now that you mention it @kaye4health ...I recognize your user name. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic many years ago myself (mom IS T2D as was her mom) but I have successfully reversed that diagnosis since transitioning over into a LCHF/Keto WOE/Lifestyle a few years back and am currently no longer considered to be per-diabetic (yay)! :)

with my old account on MFP, when i had all the family stress and threw my wagon over the cliff. (so much for family support, all i got was stress, misery from them). Knocking me for eating the way I had to, to keep my sugars low in my blood. Anyways, I also was so upset I deleted that account. I felt like such a failure after falling off the wagon after doing so good for over a year, think it was like 2yrs doing great. Anyways wish I had not deleted that account.

Now when there is family functions where others prepare the whole meal, and someone asks me if I can eat this or that. I just say, It is fine. or say no comment and walk away. I always have none frig foods in my purse I can eat, go sneak off and eat nuts, apple, meat sticks etc. so I am not starving and no one needs to know the difference. And of the foods they prepare, I eat what I can, and leave what I can't alone.

That's not a bad strategy to have considering that it sounds like your immediately environment isn't terribly supportive. But the good thing about MFP is that like-minded members can become a very supportive extended family for you even from a distance! :)
