Yep. Just started 2 weeks ago. I've done it before though. Trying to learn more about it.2

What is the Keto diet? I see it a lot on here and not really sure what it is! TIA!1

I am! I've been on it since August 3. I have lost 24 lbs and several inches AND I never feel hungry!
Here are some websites to get started:

I'm not keto, but there are plenty of people on here who are keto or some other type of low-carb eaters. You might want to check out this group that's dedicated to people doing low-carb: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group4

Haha exactly!!

It's not me either - long-term - but it's great for getting your cravings for sweets under control. After 2 or 3 weeks of protein and non-starchy vegetables you can start adding the carbs back.2
-
I honestly could not do keto or low carb diets. I find it hard keeping to normal carbs now.2

I think I inadvertently put myself in a keto-like diet. I've had low to no carbs (other than veggies). I haven't had the bad breath thing yet, but I see other signs.1

I just started keto yesterday so I'm just trying to navigate my way through this first week!1
-
Been doing it since February and I plan on it being long term. Aside from the weight (over 64lbs lost so far), I'm no longer diabetic, no longer have hypertension, and i never have 2 o'clock crashes and I just have great energy throughout the day.11

I am 5 days in today - My body was in ketosis by day 3 and NO keto flu! @nellyjones25 I'm on keto! @MANDRADE36 - my suggestion to you is keep it SIMPLE at first and make sure your macros are properly calculated. I have been trying a few recipes here and there - my next is a low carb soup i'm going to try.
anyone on keto or not please feel free to add me too!3 -
My friend is doing keto diet as of about 2 weeks ago. She was really sleepy for a while and seemed sick for like a week. Keto is basically no carbs with no sugar, sub high protein and fat. Any carbs and sugar you get needs to be NATURAL and supplimented with fiber. Now, I'm not on her diet but I AM calorie counting. I think she wants to gain muscle mass and purge sugar from her body. BUT! I am the chef in the house so I cook all the keto stuff now for my dishes, while just watching total in/total out. Please get a hold of me for some recipes. I've made like 4 large type meals so far like keto breaded chicken parmesan, keto eggplant lasagna, some salads in a jar that we both like but also keto friendly, and THE AMAZING GLORY OF THE ZOODLE! (Also any type of potroast without potatoes is totally keto)2

So, I researched a lot about it before putting myself on the keto diet. I was 143lbs and its been 2 weeks now since I have started keto diet under the guidance of my gym trainer. To be honest, I literally feel less hungry and a bit high on energy now. However, I did face the worst of keto diet when I got into ketosis like keto flu and increases urinating tendency. But everything is normal now and my body has become a fat burning machine
I found few relevant and genuine posts about keto diet on the internet. Sharing here, as they might help you.

@ mamabear081......I'm pretty new also and just recently found out how to send a friend request, myself.......lol. Anyway, if somebody answered this already, I apologize (I'm still in the middle of reading this thread) but what you have to do is click on the person's name to the left of their post. A box will appear with their pic/name again. Once that box appears, you click on their name, again, and you'll see a box below their pic that says "add friend" or "send friend request". Just click on that box and a friend request will be sent.1 -
I follow a KETO diet. Been on it for about a month and a half (not my first go round) I seriously love this diet.1

Just want to correct - KETO is HIGH fat but moderate protein....so be careful make sure you do research.1

I think I'm doing KETO! lol I automatically cut out bread and cereals as soon as I start trying to lose weight. I eat tons of fruits and vegetables though and I looooove a baked sweet potato! Most of my intake comes from protein and fat.. I'm addicted to smoked salmon with poached eggs and spinach atm yummmm2

Nope - you're not doing keto. You are eating fewer carbs.....nothing wrong with your approach at all.
With keto, fat is very high and carbs are very low (not merely low). Fruit and any kind of potato would be severely limited in keto. This is why it's CICO all the way for me (calories in vs. calories out).....elimination just backfires for me.5 -
I just started 4 days ago & have lost 4 1/2 pounds. I LOVE this diet. Not only am I dropping weight fast, but I feel amazing (no energy dips throughout the day), I feel more focused & I'm really not hungry. I just eat my 3 meals a day & do not feel the need to snack like I used to. Plus I really don't even feel like I am dieting. The food I am eating is very yummy, I don't feel like I am missing out. I do miss sugar occasionally.2

Started KETO again last Saturday and feel great. Last time I lost 12lbs in the first month. Got off track when my husband fell ill. Extremely motivated right now and and 6lbs off this week!!! In full ketosis and loving all my food choices. Making a batch of "cheese bread" this afternoon4

I would like to try it, but honestly, I think I should wait until after the holidays.0

there's a whole bunch of keto-friendly suggestions for holiday feasts if you google0

I started out by cutting out a few carbs here and there and lost 4 pounds over 5 months. Since early August I got better about cutting out carbs. Then I read "Why We Get Fat and What to do About It" by Gary Taubes. That's when I kicked into the keto diet. I've lost 44 pounds since 8/10, losing 2-4 pounds per week. It was hard at first to pass up all the breads and fruits and goodies but now it's very easy to pass them up.
Thanksgiving dinner might be a challenge but I plan to keep as close as I can to below 25g per day. But, bottom line, I know I can eat up to 100g of carbs per day and still lose weight so I don't stress out about the days I miss the 25g target.4 -

Yes!! Keep it simple. The recipes to mock carb recipes get to be overwhelming. I have done a few but for the most part I keep it pretty darn simple. Had great results beginning of the year. Then I went through some crap gave up and ate and drank a ridiculous amount. Starts October 17th at 184.. am sitting at 164 as of today. Yay!! It really is a fantastic diet. I hate counting calories. I love that I can go out to eat and it is relatively easy to stick to keto. It's a do able diet in my opinion!!1 -
I am & lost 12lbs in the first month but maintained for 2 weeks. I am finding it hard to balance the carbs & calories though so any help would be welcomed. TIA ps. Please feel free to add me0
