The opposite of an NSV?

Last Thursday I had a gig with my band and made the bad mistake of assuming I would fit into some of my old gig outfits now that I'm slimmer. I have lost a stone after all and that's quite a big milestone! I tried on my old cut-offs, managed to get them up and over my stomach, but would the button close? No chance! I tried on my 'if all else fails' shorts that used to be baggy on me and even they wouldn't fit - I had a giant muffin top and bending over wasn't going to happen.
I found it all pretty depressing at the time as I had to settle for an outfit that I wasn't 100% happy with but luckily I didn't have time to dwell on it and the next time I did I decided to turn it around - why not use this as motivation for my weight loss instead of letting it drag me down? My aim is to fit into the bigger shorts by the next gig - I think another 8-9 pounds should do it
Have you ever experienced this? Have you assumed that you were slim enough for something and it ended up you weren't?

christ, that happens to me all the time...i lost 21 lbs...youd think id be able to fit in the GD shorts already but NOPE...for crying out loud!! so yeah, i feel your pain.
how was your show? did you forget about the frustration and have a kick *kitten* time?!0 -
Oh yes - in fact I did it sooo often that I finally donated my thin clothes to the Salvation Army. No sense in upsetting myself over something that I am working on I will feel even better when I get down to that size (or hopefully surpass that size) and buy brand spanking new:bigsmile:0

oh man, yeah, I've lost around 3 or 4 inches and close to 15 pounds I tried some pants that I was SURE would fit and right before I started crying I thought NOPE you will fit in these if you don't fall into the old habit of crying about not losing what you think you should have by now then eating everything in site. So almost every morning I look at my old jeans and say I WILL FIT in these at some point!
Way to be positive with that it's SOOOOO hard to do.0 -
One word... Pregnancy. I will never be able to wear low-rise jeans again, and one pair that I absolutely loved (more of a mid-rise) still gives me a huge muffin-top when I button them. Granted, I still have about 10lbs to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I just bought a different pair of jeans in the same size, from the same store, so it really bugs me that these don't fit.0

Yes I did in the end - I didn't really have time to dwell on things which is probably just as well or I would have eaten everything in sight! The show definitely kicked *kitten* and was a great high, it probably helped to turn my view around0
