Hi All,

So seems there are a lot of people doing the juice fast and making juices. I was thinking that it would be a great idea to have a thread that was dedicated to Juice recipes. Everyone is experimenting and trying new things and looking for good juice blends to get them through the days. SO Lets post our favourite juice recipes! I think that the hardest recipes to perfect are the veggie ones so hopefully we can find a few GREAT ones!

*note- this is not supposed to be a thread about "how too" or day to day support. Just a collection of recipes everyone can enjoy!

Great idea! I've only had my juicer about a week, so I don't have much to contribute as far as recipes yet. But here's my favorite so far...
    7 granny smith apples
    1 inch piece ginger
    3 black plums
    11 yellow squash
    (Makes about 60 ounces)

The squash mellows out the sweetness without adding any bitterness, so it's very refreshing. It's also pretty high in carbs/sugar, so I'm going to start experimenting with more veggies. Can't wait to read everyone else's recipes!

    *edited for atrocious spelling ;)

I use an OMEGA juicer so veggies are always mascerated and it maintains the enzymes better than blenders.

    My favorite experiments/combos so far:

    -beets
    -carrots
    -apple
    -kale

    -fennel
    -green apple
    -cucumber
(*sometimes I add ginger to this one*)

    ----

    -celery
    -carrot
    -apple

    ----

Citrus fruits don't work well with the omega, so i just squeeze the orange juice into any of my juices. have fun with these!

    My favorite experiments/combos so far:

    -beets (1-2)
    -carrots (about 1 cup)
    -apple (1)
    -kale (4-5 leaves)

    -fennel (1/2 bulb)
    -green apple (1)
    -cucumber (1/2 kirby or english)
(*sometimes I add ginger (about 1/2 inch) to this one*...it's really strong flavor, so add with caution...gives you that zing!)

    ----

    -celery (4-5 stalks, 8-10 inches)
    -carrot (1 cup)
    -apple (1)

    ----

Citrus fruits don't work well with the omega, so i just squeeze the orange juice into any of my juices. have fun with these!
  • My favorite juice so far (all organic ingredients):

    1 small red beet
    3 carrots
    1-2 celery stalks
    handful of spinich
    handful of kale
    1/2 cucumber
    1in ginger root

Add ice. Makes about 18 ounces.

If I need extra energy in the morning I will add either an apple or lemon juice as well.

    HAPPY JUICING!

    Carrot base
    Zucchini
    Kale
    Ginger

Yum! Start with a little ginger and add more to taste. I happen to like a lot of it, but I think some might not.

    Surprisingly very good vegetable juice-

    4-5 medium carrots
    2 celery ribs
    Hand full of spinach

    That's it.

I had thought I was going to add an apple for taste but this combo was actually really good. It was mild and a little sweet!

Great Idea!!! I need more healthy (and NOT just those yummy fruit ones only) so i hope to see ones on here with tons of veggies and fruit for flavor ;)
    my favorite is:
    1 fuji apple
    3 celery stalks
    2 carrot sticks
    2 handfuls of spinach
beet (not sure what the size is, but i usually get a large one and cut it in half but since they are all different sizes, you can add to your preferance.)

I"m going to aim to make my juices 50% sweet and 50% leafy greens in order to make it not so sugary. My colon specialist told me that fruits and sugars from produce will ferment in your system if you eat it with harder to digest foods (like proteins or steak for example). So it's best to eat the fruits (and sweet veteables) 1 hr before or 1 hr after those proteins / fatty foods.

So beets and spinach and carrots... green apple, celery and spinach...etc.

    Keep the ideas coming!
  • Thanks so much for posting this thread!

    Morning juice is usually this:

    4 carrots
    1 apple
    small chunk ginger

Some days, it might have a half tray of wheatgrass added to it. Or a couple of big kale leaves.

My juicer will juice wheatgrass too, so that works well (It's a Hurom vertical slow juicer).

I usually prefer to drink my greens in smoothies, as I want the fibre from them too.
  • 2 Carrots
    2 Celery Sticks
    1 Pear
    1 Orange
    1 Cucumber
    1/2 Lime
    1 Cup Baby Spinach

Makes about 20 oz. I drink it on a constant basis. It is so delicious.

Just got a juicer, haven't used it yet but will be trying these recipes tomorrow. Thanks!
  • Just to update everyone...

I've been juicing for breakfast every day for the past 2 weeks.

    My FAVORITE so far is:

    -Carrots (1 cup baby peeled)
-Beets (1 small "chioggia beet" (white with red cocentric rings inside), 1 small red beet)
-Green Chard (about 3-4 leaves with stems)
    -Celery (2-3 stalks)
-1 small apple (i prefer the gala or the tart/sweet green types--can't remember the name from farmer's market, it wasn't granny smith but i'm sure that would work)
-1 small lemon (whole with skin)

This makes about a 10 ounces of REALLY good juice!

I experimented with types of apples, beets, and green leaves, and the best are the ones that I specified in my opinion.

Use organic for everything of course.

    HAPPY JUICING!
