You might want to put a definition on eating 'clean'... it's quite a subjective term...

Weight loss is about your calorie deficit, there's no need to make it any more difficult than that!

Hi there ... I simply replaced chomping on Sweets with Celery or some nuts instead and made it difficult to get hold of them (ie no sweets in house so I would have to go out to get some .. ) Plus if I was tempted I would put it into MFP then compared the stats to something healthy and would talk myself out of it that way ...
  • Don't deny yourself too much but stick to your calories. If you log everything then you will soon run out of allocation if you eat too many sweets.

No no I have cut calories I'm aware of that, but cutting calories still with eating rubbish is still not good for the body, I'd rather learn about healthy swaps.
Thanks for the idea of putting it in mfp it's right it would probably put me off

if you start tracking that bad food, but in right amounts. You will automatically switch over to get bigger amounts of food.
Do you count calories or macros

Sweets taste good, but not being able to control intake comes from a combination of eating too much of if and demonizing it.

Eating clean can mean a lot of different things, so it means nothing, apart from implying that *not* eating that way (whatever it is; we never get a good answer) is somehow "dirty".

Eating well is good for you. Eating well means getting in enough of all the nutrition you need every day, and not too much of anything over time. This can be done in so many different ways that I'm sure you will be able to find at least one way that fits your preferences, schedule and values.

If you set up MFP with your stats and goals, and hit the calorie goal it gives you, you'll be eating quite well. If you do it consistently, you will eventually reach your goal weight. If you set up MFP to track macros, and hit MFP's default, you're eating very well. If you're eating your "five a day", you're eating better than most. If you do all this, and feel happy about your food choices, and relaxed around food, you have a good diet and a good relationship with food.

Doesn't this seem more appealing than eating clean and properly? (Please say yes :p )

I have the biggest sweet tooth, but I've noticed when I train a lot (I just ran a half marathon), my body tends to crave healthier stuff. For sweet tooth things, I'll eat protein bars or cookies (I like the battle oats cookies and carb killa bars). Taste sort of like a candy bar but have enough protein to keep me satisfied, whereas I'm hungry an hour after eating a snickers. I have a nice chocolate protein powder I like, and blending it with frozen cherries and almond milk is really yummy. I also like to eat things like a chopped apple, cottage cheese, yoghurt, or skyr, mixed with a bit of peanut butter and cocoa nibs. Again, tastes sweet but has enough nutrients and balance of fat/protein/carbs to keep me satisfied. Just experiment with fruit/nuts/protein shakes and find something you like.
