Need a kick in the pants today

Hi everyone. So, I've been on this journey since June this year: cut calories back, started exercising again, moved up to swapping junk for good food (instead of just less junk). I was so focused on my life change, to do better for myself. It seems like I hit a PMS-like state twice a month where I get moody (i.e. Depressed and down) and just lose that focus. I'm there right now. Missing the drive to eat well, missing the drive to get off the couch and run. Anybody got a figurative kick in the pants to find it again? Feeling pretty down about losing that. I still want to, but not feeling as strong or motivated.

    you got a dollar lol
Nah Seriously, it will come back, remember baby steps. don't try and just spring back again. Look at your food again, look around the different recipe sites and try something new. when I get tried of my food i go to something very different than what I usually eat.Take a walk. Breath the air. It will come back again
    Wishing you skinny thoughts.

For me it was finding a challenge group here that would get me psyched again. I'd hit that point where the weight wasn't coming off as easily, etc. and it wasn't much fun. I joined the MFP Hogwarts Challenge group and that's made a world of difference. Just dragged my very non-morning-person carcass out for a quick bike ride to help my house finish an assignment, not something I would have done otherwise!!

How about a literal 'kick in the pants'? I assume you now own a pair that is too large, due to weight loss. Get them out, throw them on the floor somewhere, and when this mood hits, go right over there and give them a kick. Kick them around the house. Kick them until your sweating. Kick them into a corner. Then stand back, take a deep breath, look at them and SMILE big, and remind yourself that this happens infrequently, not constantly. Better yet, tell your brain that the act of kicking those pants is the shut off switch for that mood! I think you will feel your strength and determination return. If nothing else comes from this, you just exercised - which will increase endorphins and help that mood pass quickly.

Sorry, I'm not s kita believer. More like a kita denier I guess. And I don't know from pms.

    But I know this-

Tracking. It works. Get out your food scale and measuring cups and track. Of course tracking is much easier if you have some sort of plan. Some people go so far as to pre track. I had more like an eating storyboard. If your plan doesn't work, make a better one.

Also, executing a plan takes quite a bit of concentration. If you work at it, not only do you lose weight, the process keeps your mind from wandering.

And kudos for the junk food swap. If you want to quit something, it's a good idea to figure out what you're going to do instead. It's sort of what I'm suggesting. Instead of dragging yourself along, embrace the process. If you don't have the motivation to do it, summon some determination. Good luck.
