I love to walk -- what shoes do you recommend?

Pretty much the only exercise my body seems to enjoy is walking. I was never built to be a runner. But I love to walk, and by nature of living in DC I have to walk a lot sometimes to get to and fro. I'm looking for shoes that are fashionable (not clunky like running shoes, really streamlined) and will be very comfortable for miles and miles of walking. Does anyone have any recommendations, or alternatively, what are your favorite pair of shoes for your exercise of choice?

Skechers makes some comfy, stylish shoes with good tread. (Well, to me they're stylish - better than running shoes at least.) I've walked in mine all day. Check out Famous Footwear online, maybe you'll get some ideas. I have kinda wide feet and Skechers have some give in them.0

I got mine at Costco's for @ $50.0 -
you are best to go to a fitness store and be fitted for the right shoe. I did and I am so happy. I bought Cross Trainers and Walking shoes that way, my walking shoes (by Brooks) are so comfy but they were fitted for my type of gait.0

I have some cute little puma slipper type shoes--they're gray and pink!

and Merrells:

And my most favorite walking shoe (not the prettiest, but by far the most comfortable) Rieker Antistress:

which I wear with slacks.
Current running shoe is Asics GT2150.
I found all except the Riekers at Nordstrom Rack--got the Riekers at Macys.0 -
I used to sell shoes, so I have a little knowledge on the subject. Here is the truth of the matter: the shoe you find comfortable will depend on your feet. Personally, I have very wide and flat feet. I find Merrells to be very comfortable and perfect for both city and trail walking. I also love my Converse. They are light and comfortable, but they may not provide the support you want. Ultimately, you are going to have to go try on a bunch of different pairs of shoes, buy one, wear them around the house for a couple hours (this will make sure they are still in returnable condition if they trouble you) and then see how your feet feel. Just my 2 cents.0
