Fatty liver disease diet plan

I've recently been diagnosed with fatty liver disease. My doctor said to eat a low fat, low carb diet. She said to eat between 1500-1800 calories. She didn't give me a target for fat or carb grams. Has anyone dealt with this that can help me know where to start? I'd really like an idea of maybe specific meal plans or diets. I've looked online but there's so much info it's confusing and overwhelming to me.

    I've got Fatty Liver Disease and am on 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% protein for 200 daily which gives me about 2.6lbs loss per week

    Number one things to avoid: sugar, alcohol, fried food

    Low fat, low carb is a diet of pretty much meat and vegetables. It's particularly effective for fatty liver disease, hyperinsulimia and weight loss which is probably why your doctor recommended it.

    I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis
    I'm definitely not an expert on fatty liver disease but I would follow what your doctor is telling you to do and ask for a referral to a dietitian who can guide you

    Is there anything advice that you or other people who have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease would care to share? Do you guys feel like that was caused by diet or something else?

    I have a fatty liver and I'm doing keto. The low fat and low carb leaves you only one option, protein. Too much protein and it, too, will convert to fat.
    I won't give advice as I'm no expert. I WILL tell you what I'm doing. I eat lower carb, under 100g per day, moderate fat, and moderate protein. Moderate fat helps me feel full and I don't crave empty calorie junk food. I don't binge anymore which is what made me sick in the first place. I am gentle with my liver. I don't drink alcohol or take medicines that irritate it, like Tylenol

    Reduce carbs/sugar/ alcohol. Fats are o.k.
    Cook from home a little more than you were so you can measure your calories easier than you can with restaurant food.
    Buy a food scale at Walmart or Target and weight and measure your food so you can log it in your diary.
    It takes about 2 or 3 weeks to get used to that. Eat less than you were eating before.

    Best wishes to you. How's it going? I'm no expert and appreciate most people replying wont be but I'm just gathering info.

    I'm starting on a liver friendly diet plan. Best motivation ever to lose weight too when its medical. Not had my official appt with doctor yet but the lady doing the scan led me to believe its going to be fatty liver and everything in my life matches that. Just glad there's no 'lumps'. I welcome any advice, documents or websites you've found. Liver friendly diet is not something I've ever had to look at.

    My gastroenterologist recommended losing the weight and losing it slowly. If you drop the pounds too quickly there are chemical reactions that occur in the liver that can actually cause problems. I was told good fats, moderate protein, veggies and low glycemic fruit. Avoid white bread and sugar. No or very limited alcohol was a given. 1600 calories and cardio 3 to 4 days a week. Not much different than most other dietary changes.

    Hi, Diagnosed over 10 years ago. Doc just said to do Weight Watchers. Never told me anything about it whether it is important or what. I am glad to read that losing weight will help. Good luck :)

    Hello! I am also a Fatty Liver person! Too much medications, stress over the past number of years (2014 I had a leg amputated because of a rare bone tumor) and the lack of regular good exercise has created weight gain. My liver specialists has told me that I need to lose 15lbs by the end of September and pray that my levels go down. My ALT levels are HIGH and the others are on the very edge of normal.

    Did my research: NO salt, sugar, white flour, white rice or fast food.
    LOTS of: dark green/purple veggies, dark berries, olive oil, apples, cantaloupe, green tea, coffee and garlic.

    The specialists has OK's the use of my supplements: L-Carnitine and Amino Acids

    Today is DAY 1 - of a whole new me!
