Non Scale Disappointment

I haven't seen my 'across the street' neighbors in over 2 months. Since that time, I lost 16.4 pounds. The guy says, "Wow! You lost weight. You look like a new person." The woman says, "Yeah, but she still has a big stomach." Needless to say, I felt awful. I still have 16 more pounds until my goal weight.

It had nothing to do with you. She put you down because her husband noticed you weight loss and commented on how you looked. She was jealous, simple as that. Hold your head high and just move on. Don't let her insecurities derail you. Congratulations on your loss so far, and good luck to you in the future!17

Thank you all for your support. You have lifted me from my gloomies. While I intended to carry on my weight loss journey, it was nonetheless disturbing to hear a negative comment. I truly appreciate your support. It means a lot (especially since my stomach is still really big). Thanks everyone.10

Ignore people like her. She is just trying to steal your thunder because she isn't getting the attention. Weight loss doesn't happen overnight and everyone knows this!! So her comment only made her look like a tool. The important thing is that you are closer to your goal and it's obviously showing if her husband noticed enough to say something. Kudos!7

Hey Polo265 - I see this as a Non Scale VICTORY for you!
1) you looked good enough to warrant a "Wow" and compliment from the husband...and...
2) you looked good enough to make this woman insecure when her husband said something nice.
So even though she was a *kitten* about it, she actually paid you a bigger compliment than he did.
Hold your head up high in the neighborhood and flash her a big grin whenever you see her! This keeps the door open for friendship if it was a rare bitchy moment for her that she regrets later. But if that comment was a true reflection of her personality, you can take some satisfaction in knowing she is seething inside every time she sees your hot bod out in the front yard.
