Recurring iliopsoas

I used to jog often without trouble but it's been a few years and when I started a few weeks ago I pulled my iliopsoas muscle. I waited a week and stretched and rest and ice bla bla. Tried again and it flailed again. Same story a week later. What is happening? ?!! And how do I start jogging again without it recurring. I have never had this problem before. I warm up before and after and I can see no reason for this. My shoes are fine. I do run on a dirt road though. Could that be a cause?

Who diagnosed it as an iliopsoas strain? You should ask them, since they know your situation better than we do.
Generally speaking, sitting too much is the usual cause.

I pulled that last year. Mine was related to glute issues - weaknesses and imbalances. I had to do lots of dynamic stretches and glute exercises.1

I self diagnosed. It is worsened significantly by sitting but it only started after the run. I will definitely look into the hip muscle imbalances as that makes perfect sense. Thanks guys0
